Noli Me Tangere 2

Noli Me Tangere 2, a sequel to Jose Rizal’s book (Noli Me Tangere) by Roger P. Olivares, a Filipino-American writer, published by Hero Publishing, was launched at the Carmelite Convent of St. Therese in Gilmore Avenue, Quezon City.

Emil Jurado of Manila Standard Today said:

It’s a book every Filipino who loves his country and whose heart bleeds for the poor, who wants to break the unending cycle of graft and corruption, who laments they hypocrisy of the Philippine elite, and who long for his country to move forward and progress, must read.

Olivares’ book does not present solutions to all the problem facing the country today. But, where to go, is every Filipino’s choice.

Noli Me Tangere 2, where the author, Olivares lifted the characters of Jose Rizal into the present day Philippines. Emil Jurado further describes it as a novel of love, which is poignant, of present-day poverty, hypocrisy, and graft and corruption that pervade in our society, especially among the high mighty. And it strikes deep into the heart and soul of every Filipino.

Indeed it is a must read book. And then maybe we’ll find out that what Rizal observed and wrote of the Philippines’ scenario 118 years ago is exactly what Roger P. Olivarez wrote in this new book. 118 years and the same cancer of society that Rizal described still exists. Depressing.
