Davao: A Must -Visit City in the Philippines

I’ve never been to Davao City, not even on a business trip (the only way I get to travel ’round the Philippine Islands!).
But when I get to find the time and the money: Davao will certainly be on top on my must-visit list. I love durian. And if my aging bones will still permit it? I wanna climb Mt. Apo too.
Davao, with a total land area of 244,000 hectares; is considered the largest city in the world.
Davao is home to :
1) the waling-waling (vanda sanderiana), the Queen of Philippine Orchids
2) the endangered Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi), the largest eagle in the world (?)
3) the controversial durian: the fruit that smells like hell but tastes like heaven
4) the Mt. Apo, the country’s highest peak.

I’d suggest visiting in August because that’s the time that the Waling-Waling blooms. Oh yeah and that’s also the time of the Kadayawan.
hi hoop, thanks for the info. I’ll keep that in mind.
