Out of the P35 billion in Swiss bank deposits of the late (ousted Philippine President) Ferdinand Marcos, which the Philippine government got hold of in 2004, P27 billion is practically gone. Whew! That’s a whole lot of money.
Senate President Franklin Drilon ordered DBM officials to explain why and how the Marcos funds were used, including […]

The International Fedaration of Journalists (IFJ) recently reported that the Philippines remains the most dangerous country for media in the Asia-Pacific Region making it second only to war- torn Iraq where 35 media workers were killed last year.
The Philippines I believe has always been politically unstable, but it sure doesn’t look as bad as […]

At INQ7.net’s top story today:
THE RICH and not-so-rich Filipinos were one in cheering for Manny Pacquiao as he slugged it out with Erik Morales. It didn’t matter whether some had paid to watch a live broadcast of the fight in a mall or others saw it hours later on free TV projected on a giant […]

Okay I’ll spit it out. I’m rather starting to like Piolo Pascual. Acting-wise, I think he’s Christopher De Leon and Richard Gomez combined.
I didn’t like his “clean look’ in the past, when he was being packaged so much like pa-cute Aga Muhlach.

In my family, sex (yes, as in S-E-X) was/is never discussed. It’s one topic that my parents never discussed with us, their children.
I cannot remember any of my parents ever talking to us how babies were made and stuff. Well, except maybe for that one time when I was seven or eight when my father […]

My father had a Santo Niño collection. I guess for children being raised as Catholic, it was easier to relate to Jesus if we can imagine him as a child.
In the Philippines the 3rd Sunday of January (this year, 15th January) is the feast of the Santo Niño in several parts of the country: (the […]

I’ve never been to Davao City, not even on a business trip (the only way I get to travel ’round the Philippine Islands!).
But when I get to find the time and the money: Davao will certainly be on top on my must-visit list. I love durian. And if my aging bones will still permit it? […]

The Philippines I think celebrate the most festivals unimaginable. I can still understand if the festival is of religious origin.
But an Eggplant Festival? C’mon. I think our Department of Tourism is going overboard in their campaign to attract tourists.
Well, all I can say is that: only in the Philippines!!
Update (24 Jan): Some Photo, courtesy of […]
