More Expat Views on the Philippines
Filipinos are everywhere. There must be a Filipino in every country of the world, for various reasons. In the blogosphere, Filipinos are abound too. But you’ll never notice unless that fact is stated somewhere in the posts if you are closely following. Photos on their profile will not be a give away, Filipinos could look like a mix of various races.
I’ve probably mentioned somewhere in this blog that I am blogging at The PharmVoice at Know More Media. Except for Melissa Petri that I personally know who blogs at KMM’s Road Gladiator, i do not know any other Pinoys or Pinays in that network. (Of course, here at B5media there are tonnes of Filipino bloggers!) But that’s beside the point of this entry.
I bumped into Monica Flores’ Sisters In Biz blog at KMM when she posted the entry In the Philippines. At first I thought she’s just a foreigner visiting the country. I already posted a comment until I read this portion in her KMM’s Author Profile:
I am a Filipina business owner and entrepreneur based in Oakland, California. Since graduating from Cornell in 1994, I’ve been involved in a varietry of industries, and have worked in technology, education, healthcare, retail, and strategic consulting.
And I really liked what she wrote about the Philippines’ transportation sytem and shopping malls.
You can hang out in the “province” or village with rural everything: agriculture, water buffalo, rice paddies, the works. You probably have to get along with your neighbors and in general contribute to your community. There are sometimes floods and the rainy season is six months of the year, but you can get a lot of peace and quiet.
Above is what she wrote as one of he nicest reasons to retire in the Philippines. Read more.

I love Filipinos! And I’m honored to work alongside a few of them, including you, Gloria.
I’ve created a Frappr map for us at Know More Media. I’ll email you the details. You’ve helped put the Philippines on the blogging map!
