Pacquiao Wins

A quick shout of congratulations is on hand for Manny “The Pacman” Pacquiao on his recent victory.
Pacquiao has lived up to the expectations of many by beating Mexico’s Oscar Larios in the super featherweight championship recently held at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila.
In the same arena where Joe Frazier and Muhammed Ali slugged it out in the “Thrilla in Manila” 31 years ago, the 27-year-old Pacquiao constantly showed off his speed and power in the 12-rounder, knocking down Larios twice while raising his record to 42-3-2.
The judges scored it 117-110, 118-108 and 120-106, all for Pacquiao.
Filipino boxing afficionados everywhere were thrilled by this victory! Congratulations, Manny!
But we’re not going to forget mentioning the victories of the other Filipino boxers over their Mexican counterparts that night.
Asia Pacific super featherweight champion Czar Amonsot won over Silverio Ortiz in the 10-round main supporting event. Philippine bantamweight champ Michael Domingo won in the seventh round over Alejandro Felix Montiel. Former WBC superfly champ Gerry Peñalosa and Jimrex Jaca also won their bouts over Tomas Rojas and Hector Marquez, respectively. Congratulations to all!
