The Magician becomes the Wizard

EfrenReyesEfren “Bata” Reyes, that is. He just won the International Pool Tour World 8-Ball Open Sunday at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada, winning a whopping P26 million by beating American Rodney Morrios, 8 to 6, in the finals.

Reyes is known in the pool world as “The Magician” for making some of the most spectacular shots in the game. His ability to “kick safe” (going into a rail with the cue ball and then hitting an object ball) and to kick balls into intended pockets is legendary, and before he joined the US competitions no one had seen anything like his skills.

Congratulations, ‘mang’ Efren and thanks for making us proud!

The title match between Reyes and Morrios was nerve-wracking, with missed shots and a foul and Manila Bulletin carries the entire story.
