A couple of Filipino American rock bands, The Speaks and Bleud are touring in Baltimore, Maryland on October 14. The bands are part of “Rock in the Box” a compilation of 14 songs by Fil-Ams from the East Coast.

Filipino American rock bands The Speaks and Bleud are featured in Rock in the Box, a compilation album of 14 Filipino American artists from the East Coast.

“The record is a solid proof that FilAm music is very much alive in the East Coast and a documentary evidence of how Pinoy talent is making waves in the entire U.S.,” says Ed Sunico, executive producer.

The Speaks’ hit song “High,” propelled the band to success in the Philippines, with TV appearances and sold-out concerts.

Bleud is gaining popularity in the U.S. with their song “Bye Na Na.” Their album “Musings of a Caffeine Addict” was the first Filipino American indie rock album to be marketed at Apple’s iTunes Music Store.

The Rock in the Box tour, featuring nine artists from the album, will stop in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 14 at Frazier’s in the Avenue bar.
