Global Filipino Networking Convention in Sydney

The 5th Global Filipino Networking Convention will be held on September 6-8, 2007 in Sydney, Australia. The theme will be “Fair Go for Filipino Empowerment”, where Fair stands for Filipino-Australian Integrated Response to Global Objectives. Discussion will focus on socio-economic and political issues surrounding Filipinos who work and live outside the Philippines.
The international nature of the event means that the participants will come from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North and South America, and Australia. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is expected to attend.
“We want to engage the global Filipino community in a relevant discussion that would lead to lasting outcomes. Just as we want our Kababayans to enjoy Sydney, we want to create strong and active partnerships, too,” says FILCAA president Malyn Andres-Chun.
“We encourage everyone to participate, kung ano ang makakaya, Malyn adds. It’s time for optimism and cooperation …..we need Pinoys to come together now more than ever.”

Are there slots for papers to be presented in this conference? Never been to one so it would be good to attend it.
