Chat It Up: Celebrity Encounters

chat it up

Welcome to our first Chat It Up! Our topic is Celebrity Encounters.

* Have you met a star? a singer/actress? a famous boxer? a politician? We want to know!
* Which celebrity would you like to meet?
* Was the famous person nice and friendly? Do you know any masungit celebrities?

What is Chat It Up Night?

Basically, we’ll just chat about the topic in the comments section. Gossip, anecdotes, jokes and general hilarity are all welcome. But we will have rules, just to keep it fun for everyone. We all need to be nice to one another. No swearing, and no putting another commenter down.

It doesn’t have to be a Filipino celebrity. Have you met Brad Pitt in person? Shaken Prince William’s hand? We’d love to hear the juicy details! And, if you have a link to a story, you’re welcome to share it with us too.

Let’s chat!

OK. Well, it was during our last vacation to Pinas. I went to get a massage at a spa and met a woman on my way to the showers. She was just going out. I didn’t recognize her. But I heard the attendants talking to her… “Ma’am, pumayat na kayo.” She said, “Oo, nag-wo-work-out ako, eh”. Then another offered the blow-dry service. But the lady said she was going to pick up her kids from school so she didn’t have time. I thought she was a regular there because the attendants seemed familiar with her.

Later, when I was getting my massage, the girl asked me if I saw Zsa-Zsa. Oy, siya pala yon. When I thought about it, oo nga ano! That was her. I didn’t recognize her at once. Maybe if I looked long enough, I would have. But she had no make-up on and just regular clothes, and had just come from her massage. She’s not as tall in real life as I would have expected. I think she was real nice, though. She was chatty with the attendants in a regular kind of way. :)

Well, which spa was this?! Maybe we can visit there again, who knows there might be more celeb regular clients.

Me, I’ve never seen any celebrity…. well, actually, does a grade school field trip to ‘Eat! Bulaga’ count? :-)

Hi you two! Just wanted to stop by and say hi.

I get the occasional celeb sighting on a plane. It’s interesting to see who is nice and who is not.

It was the Suriya spa in Glorietta. You’ve never seen a celebrity?!?! Wow. Not even in or after a concert? I’ve “met” Gary V. several times, have I told you?

    Hi Mary Jo,
Thanks for chiming in. Yeah, you must see a lot of celebrities. I’ve never been on a plane with one, though I secretly wish I were. ;)
