Since school is very much underway in the Philippines, I thougth I would share a few riddles (bugtong) that students can identify with.
1. Isang panyong parisukat, kung buksa’y nakakausap.
(One square hankerchief that talks to you when you open it.) -
2. lumalakad ay umiiyak, sa patay ay nakikipag-usap.
(Tears fall as it walks; to the dead it talks.) – (Hint: the answer is a pairing)
3. Walang pintong pinasukan, nakapasok sa kalooban.
(It didn’t need an open door, but it entered into the soul).
4. Isang bahay ng mayaman, napasok ng magnanakaw, nakuha ang kayamanan walang nakibo sa lagayan.
(The house of the richman was entered by a thief, who got all the treasures and left nothing behind).
