The B5Media network:

Filipino tied first for US Open Chess champ

The World Chess Federation Master candidate, and US Open champ is a Filipino!

Anton Paolo del Mundo scored 7.5 points out of a perfect ninoe, to share the first place with chess grandmasters Alexander Shabalov, Boris Gulko, Sergey Kudrin and Michael Rhode and International Masters Benjamin Finegold and Michael Mulyar.

Del Mundo is a software engineer, and had graduated from University of Maryland, College Park. Maybe I can ask for an interview!

Read about del Mundo’s tactic for defeating his opponent from the Philippine Chess Chronicles.
