Jumong episode 70aJu Mong thinks about Yeongpo’s condition for turning Yesoya and Yuri over to Ju Mong, which is for Ju Mong cancel plans to attack Hyeonto, and instead to overtake Buyeo then handing the Buyeo throne to Yeongpo afterwards. While Ju Mong thinks alone, Jaesa tells Mari and Soseono Yeongpo’s conditions are impossible to follow, but Mari says they can’t risk losing Yuri and Yesoya despite their situation. Sayong stops the two and says he can’t believe Yeongpo’s words that Yuri and Yesoya are still alive, and wonders if Yeongpo is just bluffing. Soseono tells him since they never found Soya and Yuri’s bodies, they shouldn’t’ give up the hope that they could be alive. Sayong replies even if that is the chance, Yeongpo’s conditions are too extreme for them to follow. Soseono goes to Ju Mong and tells him, neither the heavens nor the migrants would want Ju Mong to deny his family, thus she believes it is utmost important for Ju Mong to meet with Yeongpo and confirm Yuri and Soya’s liveliness first. Ju Mong agrees and goes to meet Yeongpo again. Yeongpo asks if Ju Mong has made up his mind, and comments he doesn’t feel great about using Soya and Yuri’s life as condition in their deal either but if Ju Mong chooses to decline his offer, then in the end Ju Mong is the one who kills Soya and Yuri. At this Mari is angry and draws his sword telling Yeongpo to shut up. Majin appears scared while Yeongpo isn’t phased. Ju Mong says Yeongpo is one, who, together with Daeso, killed Ju Mong’s father Haemosu, but now he is using Ju Mong’s wife and child to make a deal and that is a low gesture. Yeongpo says even so, to him it is a fair deal, and tells Ju Mong to stop the long talk and just say yes or no to his deal. Ju Mong replies he will accept Yeongpo’s offer, but before that, he must confirm that Yesoya and Yuri are alive. Yeongpo says fine, and Jaesa asks where they are. Yeongpo says they are in Hyeonto fort, and asks if Ju Mong will go himself. Jaesa says Ju Mong cannot go there himself since they can’t trust them amidst war time, thus Mari will go there, however while he is gone, Yeongpo must remain in Gyeru. Soseono also firmly states, until they confirm their liveliness, there is no deal whatsoever. Yeongpo says fine, that he will stay in Jolbon in the meantime, and afterwards, Yeongpo tells Majin when they are alone, that even though he’s using Ju Mong to claim power over Buyeo, in the future he plans to take over Jolbon as well, thus this is a good opportunity for him to learn about Jolbon’s foundations. Thus Yeongpo tells Majin not to worry about him, and instead Majin should take Ju Mong’s men to Hyeonto to show them that Yesoya and Yuri are still alive, and to do so with full alertness since they might try to scheme something.

Jumong episode 70bMari prepares to leave, and Mookgeo gives Mari a secret weapon to use for just in case. Mari leaves with Majin, while in Hyeonto fort, Minister Hwang is furious his subjects were unable to find Geummi (Yesoya) and tells his man to go and search again or else he will have him killed instead. Meanwhile, in a locked room somewhere, Yesoya is frantic as Yuri is unconscious from his fever. Just then, the palace minister runs in to tell the queen the news that Yeongpo has been seen in Jolbon by their spies and wonders why Yeongpo is there when he went to Hyeonto city. The queen asks if Daeso knows too and her brother replies yes. The queen then asks her maid to go and summon Daeso for her. Daeso asks Naro why he thinks Yeongpo is in Jolbon, and Naro says Yeongpo must be scheming something against Buyeo for his own gain or else he would have no other reason to be in Jolbon. Daeso tells Naro to find some skillful men and send them to Jolbon to bring Yeongpo back. Afterwards, Daeso calls court session and states since the king is not well, he will take over the decision making, and announces he and General Heukchi will lead a group of 500 army men toward Hyeonto fort. The Jaeboo minister says it is a good idea to send army but wonders if Daeso needs to go himself. The other minister agrees, and Daeso thanks them for worrying about him, but in regard to his relationship with Hyeonto, he in not in a position not to go, and Buduekbul tells Heukchi to pick only the best soldiers since it is utmost important that they protect Daeso’s safety.

Ju Mong says Jaesa is one who has helped him whenever he hindered, and Ju Mong reassures Jaesa that he doesn’t think his mother or the many remnants are completely gone, but as their spirits and souls still remain, he will accomplish their will no matter what thus he won’t hinder amidst anything. Ju Mong states once they confirm Yesoya and Yuri are still alive, he will do whatever he needs to do to save them, but Jaesa should focus on attacking Hyeonto in the meantime. Yeongpo’s servants tell him they seem to be making some weapons in the iron factory, and Yeongpo says he will go check it out himself and goes there. Mopalmo and Musong see him there, and Mopalmo asks him why he is here. Yeongpo says he came to see Mopalmo, but Mopalmo tells him no one is allowed in. Yeongpo replies he is no longer their enemy, and asks Mopalmo to make a sword for him too, but Mopalmo says he will make a coffin for Yeongpo instead, while Musong goes along and says Mopalmo isn’t just good at making weapons he is also skilled in coffin making. Yeongpo is upset by this, but the two leave.
Just then, Mari and Majin arrive in Hyeonto, and Majin tells Mari to wait while he goes and brings Yesoya and Yuri. Majin goes to his men, but the men tell him the woman and the child fled, while they were fetching a doctor for her sick child. Majin is appalled, and his men say they are searching for them right now but it seems difficult. Majin tells them to go and catch them at once, and Majin goes back to Mari. Majin tells Mari to wait a little since something came up, but Mari says he must confirm they are alive immediately. Yeongpo is speechless as he is surprised, and next, Hyeopbo escorts a wounded Mari out. Yeongpo says all this isn’t right, and Hyeopbo tells him to shut up. Mari tells Ju Mong there was no Yesoya or Yuri, that it was just a trick. Yeongpo is frantic and says that cannot be and something must have gone wrong. Just then Yangtak arrives with Yeongpo’s servants, and shows Ju Mong Yeongpo’s servants were drawing a detailed map of their facilities. Soseono is furious and slashes the two servants to death, and Yeongpo cries out. Sayong says they don’t need to wait any longer, and Jaesa says they must behead Yeongpo immediately. They go inside, and Yangjeong appears upset that only 500 army men came from Buyeo. Yangjeong wonders if Daeso is teasing him right now, and Daeso says as Yangjeong knows Buyeo is not in a good state right now. Yangjeong says no matter how difficult they are, together with the armies of Sachuldo, Buyeo should have at least 30 thousand soldiers, but to be sending 500 is laughable. Seolran explains due to King Geumwa’s opposition, it was already difficult for them to bring 500 men. Yangjeong vows he will get rid of Jolbon and Ju Mong for all the upset he has caused, and Daeso says he agrees. Daeso comes up with a strategy to recruit more soldiers, which is to offer men the treasures and maidens of Jolbon once they succeed in war. Ju Mong says he will bring a special task force with him to save the remnants and attack the enemy from behind afterwards. Mari and Jaesa complain the task is too dangerous and offer to take the special task instead, so Ju Mong can lead the main Jolbon-Damul army force.
