WikiPilipinas – emerging web-based Philippine encyclopedia
WikiPilipinas just might become the world’s largest repository of Filipino culture.
Just 5 months after its launch, WikiPhilippines has published more than 34,000 articles on Philippine history, culture, sports, politics and other areas. Within 24 hours of its introduction to the press, the website passed the 100,000 visitor-mark. Now that’s just phenomenal!
The power behind it, headed by founder Gaspar Vibal, is calling Filipinos everywhere to contribute and share information. The ambition behind WikiPilipinas? A challenge to all Filipinos to make a cultural and technological landmark in the world.
This week, WikiPilipinas will be officially launched at the 28th Manila International Book Fair (August 29 to September 2, 2007)
