Filipino American National Historical Society Conference in 2008

The Filipino American National Historical Society is putting out a call for papers for presentation during the 12th Biennial National Conference on July 3-5, 2008 in Anchorage, Alaska.
The organization is not simply a social group. It is composed of leading researchers specializing in Filipino American history. The aim of the conference is “sharing their knowledge, wisdom, and experiences, showcasing Pinoy history in tones and colors which ignite our imaginations and inspire future generations”.
Here is their posted invitation to the conference:
In July of 2008, FANHS will host this extraordinary event in Anchorage, Alaska where the currents of Pinoy history run strong and the depth of our pride runs deep. From canneries to communities and from family to industry, for over a century Alaska has been a bridge and cornerstone to the wandering spirits deep inside countless Filipino souls.
Come and join us when we explore the root and meaning of Pinoy identity and consciousness, and together we’ll add new chapters to the annals of Filipino Americana.
