Graphic images on cigarette packs sold in Philippines
If this anti-smoking law is passed, we might begin to see some gruesome images displayed on all cigaratte packs, to discourage people from smoking.
If this law is passed, the Philippines wil be following Australia, Brazil, Canada, Thailand and soon the UK in using photo warnings on cigarette packs.
Photos such as these on the backs of packets to be sold in the UK -

If the law is passed, we might save a few more Filipino lives from the dangers of smoking.
The Frame Convention on Tobacco Control Alliance Philippines (FCAP) is gathering one million signatures to convince lawmakers to file the bill.

Nice, I blogged about this too about a month ago or so.
No to smoking!
Such and worse graphics, are also used here in Singapore. The images, plus the exhorbitant prices of cigarettes here really cuts down smoking.
the gruesome graphic is discouraging to smokers. this is one way of promotimg health among the populace especially the men. we wish this law will be passed in congress/senate as soon as possible. anyway do we have a lawmaker that proposes such a bill??
smoking is a fatal habit, some of my relatives had died of illness caused by smoking
multinational companies engaged in this business must be campaigning hard against the bill. Lucio Tan will have a big headache for this bill. let’s campaign for the bill’s approval.
hi! FCAP is also launching an online petition alongside the signature campaign for this law. please pass it on http://www.petitiononline.com/ghwphil/
