A Filipina Writing Project
One more move in the campaign to resurrect the image of the "Filipina" on the web.
Google the word "Filipina" and you come up with sites about mail order brides, dating a Filipina or getting Filipina penpals. Surely there is more to us that what Google defines us to be, right? The more we get the word out about how beautiful, wholesome and strong Filipinas are, the better we reclaim our true image.
Filipina Images is starting an ongoing writing project to help the campaign along. Every month, write at least one entry with the word "Filipina" in the title. Submit the entry to http://filipinaimages.com/ and they will link your blog for ONE month.
The topic? About being a FILIPINA.
It could be about you, someone you know, a character, an accomplishment, etc. Good things… and, OK, we have our imperfections too, but have it in the context of a lesson… remember "the Filipina of the Future deserves a more empowered, diverse image online."
