Glorietta Mall Blast Update: Charges Being Filed

The Philippine police has found sufficient reason to file charges against 15 people, including engineers, maintenance staff and officials of the city of Makati, in connection with the explosion that occurred on October 19, 2007 at the Glorietta Mall.
Reuters reports:
Chief Superintendent Luizo Ticman, head of an investigation task force that determined the cause of the blast, filed three sets of criminal and administrative complaints against mall engineers, maintenance personnel and city officials who issued safety permits.
Just days after the blast, the police determined that a methane leak and gases from a diesel tank in the basement of the mall caused the explosion. The owner of the mall, Ayala Land Inc., said that the blast was caused by sabotage. Whether the company will be held liable is still to be determined.
