More from the Dancing Inmates
Byron Garcia, supervisor at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), posted a new video of the dancing inmates.
I always enjoy watching these guys. And it’s a real win-win situation. We usually see images from jail that don’t invoke hope for those inside. Here, we see evidence that being in jail doesn’t mean the loss of human dignity. These men are clearly enjoying themselves and proud of what they’re doing. These dance exercises foster not just fitness but discipline and a sense of well-being as well. And happy men are less likely to get into trouble.
Kudos to Byron and his staff once again!

thank you Maricar, it’s now on my blog too. I hope the inmates raise money for the poor or something – perhaps for their families.
great blog!

Great idea for prisons. Gives inmates something to look forward to other than gang fights. Everybody has to play nice with each other.
