Ramiele Malubay’s success on the current season of American Idol has brought reminiscences of another Filipino-American who made it big on the competition. Jasmine Trias.
USA Today caught up with Jasmine, and has the latest news about her doings. As a recap, here are some Jasmine trivia that you may not know about:
* In 2004, after her stint on American Idol, Jasmine visited the Philippines and was greeted with “complete mayhem” in the media and among her fans.
* McDonald’s in the Philippines offered the “Jasmine Trio” which included a strawberry float, large fries and a CD of her singing “Love Ko ‘To”.
* Jasmine will be having a concert tour in the Philippines this spring.
* She will also be in a comedic movie titled “Maverick and Ariel’s Ultimate Adventure: Hollywood or Bust”.
* Jasmine has a self-titled CD
