"The Philippine Cookbook" giveaway

We’re giving away one copy of “The Philippine Cookbook“!

Philippine-Cookbook-AlejandroThis cookbook by famous author Reynaldo Alejandro has had fave reviews, and we personally like it. If you’re looking for cooking that your momma made, without a lot of fuss, as she would have made it in the Philippines with very limited ingredients, you’ll want to use this book. If you have no idea of what Philippine cooking and cuisine are all about, then this is the book to have. The recipes are very simple, very doable, and most of the ingredients are staple.

How to join? Simply tell us in the comments that you want it! The contest is open only to US residents with a valid email address. It will run through 11:59 PM EST April 27, 2008 (Sunday). One winner will be randomly chosen and announced on April 28.

It’s the first day of the Bloggy Giveaway Carnival so if you want more freebies, then just hop over to this site HERE for more contests and giveaways!

UPDATE: APRIL 28, 2008 – This contest is now officially over. A winner has been picked – HERE.

Am I first? I am never ever first on blogs!

I would love to have this book because my grandfather was from the Phillipines but he died and took all his recipes with him (he has no recipes..they were all in his head).

I’d love to cook some of the delicious dishes for my son and hubby, but have no idea where to start!

Hubby is Philippine and was lucky that the family sent him, dad, and his American mother to the USA before the Japanese invaded. His dad was the cook and he misses adobo, a sweet bread, and other items. So if I win, I will not tell him until I have book in hand for us to find recipes to make and try to get foods like in his memory.

    Thank you very much.

Do you know where I can get book by author Marceil Lichauco, Dear Mother Putnam? As well as one by him about the Spanish- American war?
    thank you in advance.
