What’s the Price of Rice in Your Town?
The rice crisis is worrisome, seeing that, even before this, many Filipinos have already been struggling to fill their family’s daily needs. The price of rice has doubled in many areas. We hear reports of hoarding, and possible riots because of the shortages.
How are you coping with the shortage? What is the price of a kilo of rice in your local market? Are there suspected hoarders in your area?
The photo above was uploaded to Flickr by Hulagway on September 9, 2007. How much have the prices changed since then?

Here in Los Banos, rice prices have gone up to as much as P39/kl! You cannot find rice anything below P30/kilo (except the really really bad ones that even the dogs dont eat!). It is even prdicted that by the end of May 2008, the prices can rise up to P50/kilo!
Sad reality… and gas prices continue to rise with it too!
we dont care if there is price rise in gas or rice or any other daily consumable food,as long as there is a rise in the pay scale(salary) accordingly.the whole thing is just crazy.
Our problem with rice shortage will still continue if the government will not do something to solve the problem. Importation is not the best solution.
