Ces Drilon and Companions Released After Kidnapping

ABS-CBN’s Ces Drilon and her companions have been released.

Ms. Drilon and two companions were abducted by suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf on the island of Jolo last week. The two companions are cameraman Jim Encarnacion and Mindanao State University professor Octavio Dinampo. Another ABS-CBN crew member, Angelo Valderama, had also been kidnapped but was released earlier, reportedly after a ransom of $2,250 was paid.

The official line is that no ransom has been paid for the release of the three this Tuesday.

The family and friends of Ms. Drilon and the others can breathe a sigh of relief, now that they are safe!
