This year’s Paris Cinema International Film Festival will have the Philippines as its “Country of Honour”. The event will be held on July 1-12, 2008.

After honouring South Korea in 2006 and Lebanon in 2007, the Paris Cinema IFF will pay a very special tribute to the Philippines: its new generation of film directors, and a cinematography filled with energy and audacity. Feature films, shorts, documentaries, videos, experimental works will be presented by many invited directors, producers, and artists.

More than 40 films will be shown, including those by Brillante Mendoza and Joey Gosengfiao. Sharon Cuneta’s “Caregiver” will be featured, as well as “Ploning” starring Judy Ann Santos and “Dekada 70″ starring Piolo Pascual.
