Filipino Family Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver
Last week, my scrapbooking e-group was rocked with news of a family of three killed by a hit-and-run driver in Winchester, California. One of my co-members in that e-group is a relative of the family.
Andres and Maribeth San Agustin, and their 4-year-old son Angelo, had just left a family get-together when their car was hit head-on by a truck. The driver of the truck was reportedly racing another vehicle. The unknown driver left the scene of the accident, hitching a ride on the vehicle he was racing against.
My heart goes out to those who were left behind. My prayers are with you for comfort during this difficult time.
It’s only a matter of time before the hit-and-run driver is found and put to justice. As the report says, the police already know who they are looking for.

Thank you for the people like you who pray for the San agustin family. They were my relatives. Lets pray for the justibe be given to them.
JR, Beth and Angelo…remembering your smiles and simplicity…definitely heartbreaking for relatives and friends…please — kindly pass this info to media people so they may help spread the word to concerned people that might help turn in the suspected drivers…closure will be difficult if family and friends know these drivers are not even publicly acknowledging their fault…engaging in reckless activities for fun that turned deadly, then they hide? no conscience at all! — perfect example of moral decay in the society… How painful that such careless people took the lives of a thoughtful, hospitable family…We can only pray for more faith, strength and love in us.
I know the driver who killed the Sanagustin family in the hit and run incident in Winchester. I’m very sorry for the family. I’m praying the driver will do the right thing and turn himself in.
I am a fellow co-worker of JR when he was stationed in Japan a few years ago. I knew him as someone who likes to help his fellow man. Though we were the not close friends, it did not surprise me when he and his family would still attend my daughter’s birthday. This was a testimony of his character. I will always honor his memory and have peace of mind that he and his family is in a better place. My prayers go out to his family and friends. JR, it was a privileged to have known you. Until we meet again my friend.
