"Surviving Evil", a film about the Philippines. No, really!
I’m really not sure how to feel about this film.
“Surviving Evil” is a movie about a film crew who arrives on a remote Philippine island and encounter evil as they had never seen before. It’s a horror film about “aswang” or ghouls – the most feared supernatural creatures in Philippine folklore. Nothing weird here so far because all horror stories and movies in the Philippines include these creatures in their plot.
What’s weird? It’s an international independent film. And it is shot entirely in South Africa.
Why is that? I have no idea, but Joel Torre stars in it. Yes, the critically-acclaimed actor Joel Torre. Please tell me this is going to be an awfully great movie.
