Pacqiao-dela Hoya fight on a standoff

Sometimes, it really doesn’t pay to listen to very smart people.

Manny Pacquiao has refused to fight Golden Boy Oscar de la Hoya for a 147-pound welterweight match. Not because Pacquiao is scared. Not because he will lose. Oh no, Pacquaio’s trainer believes he can win the boxing match against de la Hoya.

No. It all boils down to $$,$$$,$$$.

Pacquiao won’t fight de la Hoya because he will only get 30% of the revenues from pay-per-view buys. De la Hoya wants a 70-30 split; Pacquiao wants 35-65.

What does this translate to dollars? A 30% pay for Pacquiao will be around US$ 14 million. Uhm… versus US$ 0, for not fighting. I must be missing something here. Or maybe this is just showing who the true champion really is.
