Where was Erik Santos?
I waited and waited, hoping to see at least one of our countrymen take the stage in the Beijing Olympics. Erik Santos was supposed to be at the Games. It has been reported here in this blog, and in many other sites, that Erik would be singing at the Closing Ceremonies.
Unfortunately, unless six pairs of eyes missed him, he was just not there!
So, what happened?
I’m still trying to find out.
While a lot of the reports that came out in the past month say that Erik will perform during the Closing Ceremonies this August (meaning today), I also found a couple of articles that give different dates…. in September.
ABS-CBN and one of Erik’s fansites say it will be on September 16, 2008. Amped Asia cites September 24, 2008.
I’m really not sure what the deal is. There may be an event going on after the actual Games (including the closing ceremonies today). In this interview with the Inquirer, Erik says that he will be at the “Olympic Festival”. Apparently, that’s not the one that just ended.
Do you know anything about the concert that Erik will be appearing in? I hear that it will be televised, where I’m not yet sure. We’d love to know exactly where and when Erik will perform. Too many fans probably waited to see a glimpse of him today, and were disappointed. Let us know what you find out. I’ll also continue my investigation into the case of the missing Erik Santos!

hi…erik will be performing at 6th beijing olympics cultural festival to be held september 16, there was a slight confusion there, because it was also the closing for the said event which is being held also alongside the games…thanks.
Eh bakit ang mga press releases sa TV at ibang media establishments ay closing ceremonies ng Beijing olympics siya mag-peperform? The news confuses a lot of people, some even waited during the Beijing closing ceremonies. Kaya maraming tao ang disappointed, both in the Philippines and abroad. Because of this maraming galit na tao at I’m sure there will be a backlash against Erik Santos….This should be clarified, some people are even waiting for a video in Youtube…until now there’s none..
My sister and I were very excited about the performance of Eric. Until now we’re waiting na mapanood yung performance nya. Ano po talaga nangyari why until now wala n ata kami balita bout that. Anyways wala nmn kami masasabi against eric, walang nagbago sa paghanga namin sa kanya.
