14 steps to a successful move to the Philippines

luggage_sxc-lindajd Many expats, balikbayans and foreigners have considered moving to, or back to the Philippines for good. I salute you and congratulate you!

However, before you even start selling your house or buying a ticket to the Philippines, make sure you’re doing it correctly, and for the right reasons. The adjustment period alone can make you regret your decision. This is not to discourage you, but reality is that many retract on their decision and go back to their native country within five years. We wish this won’t happen to you, coz of course we love for you to stay in the Philippines and make it your home.

So, Fil Am Forum Report listed the 14 important things you need to decide prior to making the move. Follow them and you’ll be ready.

1.  Are you ready to make the move?
•  Are loose ends all tended to and all potential problems solved prior to your move?
•  Do you have a firm grasp on what living in the Philippines entails?
•  Can you make the adjustments of living in the Philippines?
•  Remember, a vacation in the Philippines is NOT the same as living there.
•  Have you done your homework, and feel secure that you have all your important questions answered?
•  Do you have the complete support of your family that you will leave behind in your native country.
•  If you are having a difficult time living in your native country, don’t expect living in the Philippines to be any better.

For the rest of the steps, including why you really want to move, check out Fil Am Forum Report.

Amy talk to your husband then tell him your concern, why you like to stay in US rather than Philippines…
