Filipina Soul

Day 18 of Survivor Philippines dawned on episode 29, which aired on October 23, 2008.

Charisse had taken the initiative of gathering clams, snails and crabs for their food. While their food was cooking, the castaways wrote their letters to their loved ones. Nikki expressed her desire for good home-cooked food.

In Naak, Zita showed them another food item in their camp, talisay, which had such a tiny edible portion.

In Jarakay, Jace confessed to being feeling so lazy, stressed out and tired mentally that he almost wanted to quit. In his interview, he said that he will not quit and will continue to fight.

Balancing Challenge

The immunity challenge involved a 4-inch balance beam constructed out in the water. The participants, 5 to each tribe, had their bodies oiled prior to the start of the challenge. Kaye sat this one out for Naak. Four members of each tribe stood on the beam. One member at a time attempted to cross the beam, passing the others.  If the crossing member fell into the water, he/she had to go back to the start. One by one, the other members crossed over to the platform, until all five members got through.

Naak’s JC got to the platform first, followed by Kiko, while Jarakay still had not managed to get anyone through as Vern struggled on the beam. Rob and Zita followed Kiko effortlessly, and Cris just stepped on to the platform. It seemed that Naak’s closeness was paying off.

Naak continued their winning streak and gained immunity again! Jarakay had to vote one of their members out once more.
