Survivor Philippines Episode 30: Another Jarakay Leaves
[Editor's note: I already recapped this episode last week, but that post seemed to have gotten lost. So, if you've read about this episode already, I apologize.]
Episode 30 of Survivor Philippines opened with Naak jubilant after they won the last immunity challenge.
JC, Cris, and Rob celebrated with a bath in the ocean, scrubbing each other’s backs. The only thing they had to worry about was how many clams to gather under “the romantic setting of the sunset”, according to Rob.
Back at Jarakay, Marlon said that one of the reasons they lost was that they were uneasy with the full body contact needed for the challenge. (Naak’s family-like closeness definitely helped them overcome this.).
Tribe unity seemed to be at an all-time low. Marlon commented that Jace seemed to be losing his warrior spirit. Charisse voiced her annoyance with Marlon.
The Council and Merger Ahead
Jarakay treated their dinner as a despedida party for another member of their tribe. Marlon said that he could not vote for Nikki because she was his “baby”.
At Naak camp, the castaways discussed their tribal strategy after the merge. They vowed that they would remain loyal to Naak. Kiko summed up the responses they would give should Jarakay approach any of them for alliances:
“Susundin ko kung ano yung nasa puso ko.” (I will follow what’s in my heart.)
“Tignan natin.” (We’ll see.)
“Sorry, loyal ako sa Naak.” (Sorry, I’m loyal to Naak.)
“Pinaghirapan namin umabot dito. Gusto naming matapos nang buo din.” (We worked hard to reach this point. We want to finish as a united tribe.)
Later, Kaye said that they were to attend that night’s Tribal Council, and that they were to bring all their things. It appeared to just be a joke, but then later we saw that Naak did attend Tribal Council.
Jarakay Votes
At the Tribal Council, Paolo asked Jarakay to assess how their once-strong tribe had lost so many challenges in a row. Marlon said that their biggest failure was lack of communication.
Midway through the Council, Naak came in to observe. Charisse conceded that Naak really did function like a family. Nikki and Jace singled out Zita as the greatest threat because of her wisdom and strength of character.
Vern thought Rob was the most consistent among the castaways. Jace said that the JC was the most trustworthy, while Marlon picked Cris.
Voting started … and ended.
And the 8th castaway to leave the island was Nikki.
Survivor Philippines Fan Question: Do you think Naak’s loyalty will remain after the merge?
Poll: Don’t forget to vote in our poll on who you think will win Survivor Philippines (also located on the sidebar). I’ve updated it to reflect the results of the latest Tribal Council.
