After last week’s emotional episodes on  Survivor Philippines, where JC won immunity and the castaways received video messages from their loved ones, we were left hanging on to the edge of our seats for the results of the tribal council.
Marlon, in a desperate move to prevent his departure from the island of Koh Tarutao, had hidden a note saying he had hidden the tribe’s flint. He challenged the others to vote for him and never find it again. Marlon also promised another surprise, which was revealed in Episode 51.

The last episode of Survivor Philippines showed Marlon seemingly grasping at whatever last chance he could find to survive the coming Tribal Council.
Episode 50 is when we found out whether he succeeded in his efforts.
Kaye and Cris talked by themselves again over their votes. Cris said that the other former Naak members definitely wanted Marlon to leave; Kaye admitted that she was confused. She told Cris to imagine Zita and JC, both strong contenders, remaining on the island. Cris said that the point of it all was to be included in the top 5. The previous episode of  Survivor Philippines had all the castaways crying after receiving video messages from their friends and family.
Marlon said that his determination was destroyed because he was tired and mentally stressed.
JC said that he had picked Cris, although he didn’t trust him, because of how emotional Cris was when it came tohis family. He picked Marlon because he saw how much Marlon had missed his girlfriend.

There wasn’t much that really happened in the previous episode of Survivor Philippines. The castaways spent time around a campfire to relax and just enjoy each other’s company before the next challenge.
In Episode 48, which aired on November 19, 2008, Day 28 dawned on the island of Koh Tarutao. They got their treemail about the upcoming challenge. Rob said it didn’t matter much to him whether he got to read the treemail or not. JC thought their next challenge involved picking partners among the castaways.

After Cris won a delicious meal at the last reward challenge on Survivor Philippines, the Chalam tribe went back to camp with stomachs ranging from full to practically empty.
As most of the castaways were resting under the trees, Zita went to the ocean for a swim and to wash her clothes. The others heard her shouting. Marlon ran off, thinking she was drowning. I have a very bad houseguest that overstayed it’s welcome but won’t leave just yet. Mr. Cough and Mrs. Colds decided to play tricks on my family and now we’re hacking, snorting and sneezing.
Since my kids can’t take cold medicines yet, I’m trying the Filipino approach to cold remedies that I remember my mom doing when I got sick as a child. Vicks vapor rub always soothes at night, and a gurgle of salt and warm water does wonder for the sore throat. Chicken arroz caldo (rice soup recipe) is loved as much as the chicken sopas (noodle soup). …read more

Have you recovered from last week’s surprise of Marlon’s continued survival on the island of Koh Tarutao? I kept wondering why he as allowed to remain, in spite of his scheming ways. This is the week we’ll find out on Survivor Philippines .
We’re now on Episode 46, which aired on November 17, 2008.
The end of Day 26 in the Chalam camp came with Charisse pondering why Vern gave her the black pearl. Kaye said that she preferred Marlon to have received the pearl. JC also said that Charisse did not deserve it.

Will Mommy Zita cross over to join Marlon in voting JC off the island? That was the question left to viewers at the end of the previous episode of Survivor Philippines.
We found out the answer on Episode 45, which aired on November 14, 2008.
While JC was the target of Marlon’s scheming, he didn’t forget that Rob was vulnerable too. He told Charisse that Rob would be in trouble if Marlon ever got hold of the black pearl that Kiko had given to Rob.
