Survivor Philippines Episode 34: Naak and Jarakay Still Strong?
In the previous episode of Survivor Philippines, Mommy Zita won the first individual immunity challenge and earned the right to wear the Immunity Necklace.
Episode 34, which aired on October 30, 2008, opened with Day 20 on the new Chalam camp.
Marlon took charge of of the food gathering, taking two Kiko and Charisse with him to gather clams. Zita took Vern and Kaye to gather snails. Zita told Kaye how she made the pole she used in the last challenge. Cris worked on their shelter. Jace was observed by several castaways that he was not moving as much as the others.
Kaye said that she didn’t give her all in the last challenge, but that she was confident as long as one of the former Naak members won. The closeness between Jace and Vern was evident again. They talked about the coming tribal council, and what would happen if there was a tie.
Zita improved on the existing hammock by adding a rope to make it easier to swing the hammock. Charisse joined Zita and Kaye in the hammock, which JC observed as a “scheming” move and that Charisse wanted to be close to the former Naak members. Unfortunately, the hammock wasn’t built for three!
Naak Still Strong
Jace observed but didn’t help when the others were working on the shelter. Kiko and Zita took a walk to gather wood and to discuss their strategy, to first vote off Jace, then Vern and then Marlon. Marlon observed that Kiko often took his former Naak members aside to talk. Rob talked about Marlon being the one who made sure that the tribe was fed, and how Cris was very valuable to the tribe.
That night, the new tribe gathered under the full moon. There was much teasing about Kiko and Charisse, and their new love team, “Chako”. Charisse recounted the qualities that she was looking for a guy. Even Mommy Zita got into the teasing and covered Kiko and Charisse with a blanket (poncho). But it was all good fun, since even Charisse knew that Kiko has a girlfriend back home.
Strategies
The next day, Day 21, Charisse approached Zita to ask about how the previous Naak used to vote. Zita said on-camera that Charisse had shared that she wanted to vote off Jace because she found him arrogant. She confided that Jarakay had an agreement not to vote off any of their members.
That day, their treemail instructed them to write their concerns on pieces of paper, and put them in a box. Kiko said that Jarakay would not exist without the hardworking Marlon. JC said that Marlon was deserving to be the first Pinoy Sole Survivor because he was the one who served everyone. But at the water well, Marlon told Jace that he didn’t expect Kiko to still be there that night.
