Survivor Philippines Episode 42 (11-11-08): Heated Words

The tribal lines between Naak and Jarakay seem to have been completely erased. In the last episode of Survivor Philippines, Kiko said goodbye to his tribemates and became the second member of the jury.

In Episode 41, which aired on November 11, 2008, day 25 dawned on the island. Though Rob was no longer as angry as before, he was smarting from Kiko’s gesture of giving the black pearl to him. His reasoning was that, despite him (Rob) giving everything for the Naak tribe, Kiko still thought that Rob was one of those who betrayed him. Rob asked JC what their next move would be. Rob suggested for them to stick to their original plan. JC said that they have no choice but to stick together. Rob promised JC that he will do his best for the old Naak tribe.

Rebuilding Bridges

Meanwhile, Marlon told Charisse that with Kiko giving the black pearl to Rob, it seemed that he had given Kiko another decoy.

Zita walked into the camp bearing a entire bagful of snails. Marlon said that that’s how it is with someone who is nervous about being voted off: they get a lot of food.

Marlon advised Zita that, now with Kiko gone, she could now vote as she wanted. Zita reminded Charisse that there was only one reason any of them were there, and that is to win P3 million. Kaye told Zita that, now that Kiko is gone, each of them will vote as they want, no more alliances.

Cris thanked JC for his faith in him, but admitted that he voted for Kiko. Cris also admitted his hard feelings about being left out of the “for the boys” alliance.

Kaye told the other Naaks that she wanted even the Jarakays to have a fair chance at the game. Cris told them that he only followed what he really wanted, without Kiko dictating the moves.

Marlon and Mommy Zita

After getting their treemail, Marlon looked for a piece of wire, and tried to take it out of his torch. Zita told him that they’re not supposed to touch their torches. Marlon called her out on her telling about his “violation” to the others. It escalated into a shouting match between him and Zita, until Marlon said that Zita suddenly became industrious around the camp.

Rob acted as peacemaker between them. JC and Charisse were roused from their sleep by the argument.

Zita was clearly agitated over Marlon’s words, and called him a windbag.

Marlon said that he fears no man. On-camera, he said that he had never treated anybody that way. He approached Zita to apologize.

Zita tearfully confronted him about her hurt feelings, that she is not just being a ‘hero’. She had always been hard-working, and she just wanted to take care, not just of herself, but the others too. “Saan ka ba nakakita ng matandang hero?” (Where have you seen an old hero?)

Kaye told JC how she cannot believe how Marlon could shout like that to an elder person like Zita.

Charisse said that it’s OK with her to just pretend to like everyone, until the end of their stay on the island.

Marlon and Charisse laughed about the possible reactions of the Filipino TV viewers, who will look forward to Marlon’s departure, and cry that it was Kiko who left instead. Marlon said that he will just stand by what he did, “Bad boy kung (if)bad boy”.

Survivor Philippines Fan Question: Do you think Marlon’s strategy will take him to the end of the game?

Poll: Don’t forget to vote in our poll on who will win Survivor Philippines! The poll is on our sidebar and is updated after each week’s Tribal Council. Quite a number of you thought Kiko will be the first Pinoy Sole Survivor. Unfortunately, Kiko has joined the jury. So our poll has been reset to show the remaining castaways.
