Survivor Philippines Episode 62 (12-9-08): The Final Two
Survivor Philippines is getting more and more nerve-wracking, as the live finale on Friday nears. In the previous episode, the Final Three – JC, Rob and Charisse – battled it out to win the Immunity Necklace for the last time. Rob was victorious, gaining his first immunity win.
Now, we find out who Rob will choose to go on with him to the Final Two and the chance to win P3 million and the title of first Pinoy Sole Survivor.
The last three castaways made the long treck to their 8th Tribal Council. Host Paolo Bediones called in the members of the Jury – Jace, Kiko, Vern, Marlon, Kaye, Nanay Zita and Cris.
Questions and Answers
Paolo asked JC why he became emotional at the last Immunity Challenge. JC said that he was happy that they had reached the final challenge. Charisse was asked what brought her to her position in the Final Three. She said that there were a lot of reasons, and that her friendship with Kiko had helped her gain the alliance with JC. Rob described his feeling in winning the immunity challenge on his own merit.
Paolo asked Rob to leave the Council, so the others can talk about him. Charisse was asked whether she agreed with Rob’s assessment that he had used the mental aspect of the game to his advantage. Charisse said that Rob had benefitted from his alliance with JC and it was just his luck that JC was strong and won a lot of challenges.
JC said that he respected Rob’s strategy of not giving his 100% effort so he will not be a target, because it brought him that far. He had chosen Rob to have an alliance with, because he was confused about who he could trust after Kiko was voted off.
It was then Charisse’s turn. Rob was asked whether she deserved to be there. Rob said that they all deserved to be there. JC found Charisse to be trustworthy, and that she had fulfilled her promises.
Charisse was asked whether JC was too good to be true. Charisse said that he is not fake. Rob said that JC’s downfall was his being a threat, with his determination, his will to win and his clean play.
Paolo said that, since obviously, JC and Charisse will vote for each other and cancel their votes out. So, for this Tribal Council, only Rob will vote for the person he will want to leave the island.
Rob’s Choice
When Rob voted, he said “Thank you very, very much. Salamat sa mga fruitful na pinagsamahan natin sa kampo. Hope tha we continue to do it as soon as we get home.”
Paolo took out the one vote, and announced the 16th castaway to leave the island and the 8th member of the Jury was Charisse!
Rob had made good on his promise and alliance with JC! Kudos to him for being a man of his word!
Charisse said that she was happy with what she had accomplished, in reaching the final three.
Paolo told JC and Rob that the following afternoon would be an emotional one for them, and that they need to prepare their cases about why they deserved to win the title of Pinoy Sole Survivor.
Back at camp, Rob said that there he missed the rest of the Chalam tribe. They started with 10, now there were only 2. JC said that what a wonderful feeling it was that their plans were fulfilled. Rob once again admired his black briefs, because it had reached Day 39.
The two of them almost had a disaster, when part of their shelter caught fire.
That night, JC and Rob talked about the coming council with the Jury. They speculated about Kiko’s possible reaction to Rob’s immunity win. Rob got angry, kicking and throwing things, that Kiko could think JC had given the immunity to him. Rob said that it wasn’t like when Cris asked JC to give him immunity. JC simply allowed Rob to work out his anger.
The next episode promises to be an emotional one, where Rob and JC get a chance to address their former tribe mates, and finally, to dismantle their camp and burn the Chalam flag.
