An Appeal to Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao has won the hearts of countless Filipinos for his victories in the boxing ring. Always, he wears the Philippine colors proudly. So this is an appeal to the Pacman to please, please, please stick to doing what you do best. Boxing. Endorsing products. Even singing. But please, please, please do the country a favor and never run for public office.
Already, I’ve heard news of Paquiao being courted to run for vice-mayor.
Please. Somebody stop him and those who would try to convince him to throw his hat into the political ring.
Manila Standard’s Jojo Robles writes the following, and I agree wholeheartedly:
Right now, nobody can question the “winnability” of Manny Pacquiao in any electoral contest. And in a political environment that is obsessed with the idea of an unbeatable candidate, regardless of the consequences, having the famous boxer in your corner in an election is like having a killer right hook…
But the analogy of politics as a boxing match should end there. Unless Pacquiao intends to use his fists to physically pummel and subdue his political rivals, there is no point in getting him into this new and infinitely more complicated ring….
The boxer already has fame and fortune. What’s wrong with adding political power to that?
Everything, actually. And Manny Pacquiao himself should realize that resisting the temptation to run for office could be the best thing that he could do for his country, now that he has brought glory to himself and his homeland by dispatching all of the challengers to his preeminence as a boxer.
…The siren song of politics may be very hard for Pacquiao to resist. But if he truly has the interest of his country at heart (as he never ceases to point out in all of his matches), perhaps he should think about remaining a national sports icon and an inspiration to his adoring countrymen.
So please, Manny, you can do so much more for the Philippines outside of public office. You can inspire your countrymen to reach for their goals, to choose leaders wisely, and to be proud of being Filipino. Don’t let yourself get mired in politics, where those who endorse you now are only after the popularity you have earned for yourself.

Maybe Pacman can help train the police officers of Manila some discipline practice, work ethics just like his routine when training for a big fight. The Manila government can also deputize him as a reserve officer or maybe a crisis negotiator for the Police department similar to what Shaquille O’Neil did for the Port of Los Angeles Police Dept. and the Miami Police Department.

yes, the Pacman did it again. he did carried the Pinoy name on the chart again. very nice of him to be so sincere and humble, but going into politics? that is a different arena and another fight that he needs to handle very carefully. politics in Pinas is dirty, and will dig into so many things about your life, no matter how you hide from it. so if i were the Pacman, i will immediately think of other things to invest and play with my money that will make me more richer and my children and future grandchildren. politics will tarnish all those millions of pesos he won - but in case the Pacman won’t be stop, please try to start cleaning up your dirty linen (if any) and lock carefully the Pandora’s Box.

Comments to Manny Pacman Paquiao
Suggestion:
” Just beleive me and to all of those around you who are always there extending a support just for your own Good & safety life ( I salute you if you can accept our advice) Thanks

[…] There are reports that Manny is being enticed to run as Vice Mayor or even Mayor of Manila. Reacting to this proposal, Filipina Soul has an appeal for Manny: “Manny Pacquiao has won the hearts of countless Filipinos for his victories in the boxing ring. Always, he wears the Philippine colors proudly. So this is an appeal to the Pacman to please, please, please stick to doing what you do best. Boxing. Endorsing products. Even singing. But please, please, please do the country a favor and never run for public office.” […]

A very valid reason at dahil sa yo nabuo ang lahat na pinoy around the world regardless of political and religious affilation.
Good luck.

yah, indeed, manny pacquiao almost knocked out all his opponents in the ring. and now he is facing another foe, (an innocent and harmless foe who actually needs help and not a punch), in the person of juan dela cruz. every jab, every hook, straight and upper cut, surely, that will put juan dela cruz to his knees and begging for help, hence, he will be again victorious and on top of the world as he thought he would be. defeating juan dela cruz in black and blue, hah! it’s another talk-about victory, but i call it ‘lost in disguise’.
