Award winning Indie film “ICU Bed #7″ showing at Galleria.
The Cinemalaya award-winning independent film “ICU Bed #7” will finally get its much-deserved exposure.

The film will be shown at the Robinson’s Galleria starting January 31 to February 6. Director Rica Arevalo was handed the Cinemalaya Best Direction trophy while the film’s lead star Eddie Garcia received the Best Actor recognition. It also won the Don Carlos Palanca award for literature.
Oliver Oliveros gets a comment from Eddie Romero, National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts:
Arevalo’s ‘ICU Bed #7’ is an impressive evidence of the entry of a new generation of gifted moviemakers to the world of Filipino visual entertainment, demonstrating a skillful departure from the traditional linear approach to story and character development while remaining true to its central theme without getting lost in pointlessly impressionistic cinematic devices. Arevalo stands out among the young arrivals who have managed to realize this difficult objective.
It’s good to hear that Galleria has a place for independent film showings at IndieSine. Oliveros has more details about tickets and contact.

I am very proud to know that our local indie film makers are getting a lot of attention from the foreign media and the international film industry. We have a lot of great talents in the Philippines! I am waiting for the next Kubrick and Shyamalan to emerge from the Philippines!
