Award-winning ‘Rigodon’ showing at the MoMA (New York)

‘RIGODON’
An immigrant’s dream is the American nightmare
If you happen to be at the Big Apple come January 12 and 13, come by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) to watch the award-winning and critically aclaimed film RIGODON. From Philippine News -
Rigodon’s politically charged observations on the difficulties of being Filipino immigrants in post-9/11 New York City is given a stylized and meditative form that alternates between dream, theater, and reality. The intersecting stories of an aging boxer, a haunted war bride, and a poet illuminate the challenges of living the immigrant dream, and the fleetingly beautiful personal connections that are born of that struggle.
Its award-winning cast include actor Arthur Acuna, who plays the aging boxer, Joel Torre as the rebel-poet, and Chin Chin Gutierrez as the war-bride. The film is directed by Filipino filmmakers Sari Lluch Dalena and Keith Sicat.
With a cast like this, ‘Rigodon’ should be worth our time and money. For more information, visit the website.
