Here’s evidence of the growing influence of bloggers in the Philippines.

Abe Olandres and the Band of Bloggers (BoB) have been invited by Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan to join his tour of Northern and Central Luzon. Read Abe’s post here.

The bloggers will join celebrities like Gary Valenciano, Pangilinan’s mega-star wife Sharon Cuneta, Judy Ann Santos and Jericho Rosales.

I’m not sure whether the voters in the provinces will welcome the BoBs like they will the actors and actresses. The bloggers were most certainly not invited for their ability to attract the masses, but for their online clout. Sen. Pangilinan must see the value of blogs and their ability to shift public opinion, for him to seek the group presence in his rallies.

We’ll take this as an endorsement of the senator, right, Abe?
