Coconets: Winner at BBC World Challenge
In my first post about coconuts, it might have escaped notice that the Philippines Coconets made it into final list of the BBC World Challenge. The nets are made from waste coconut husk and are used to prevent landslides in the Philippines.
In the news today:
Agricultural engineer Justino Arboleda of the Philippines won the first prize in the First World Challenge contest sponsored by BBC World television in London on Nov. 17 for his soil erosion control net or coconet.
So there might really be hope in the coconuts.
