Filipina Soul

It’s Valentine’s day and just browsing through the net today I read Connie Veneracion’s “Speedy Valentine” post about how she and her husband met… ah, it is always nice to reminisce about how everything started with the ‘love of your life’, isn’t it?

Her mommy journals at first glance is like every other mommy journals on the net where one writes about family life, house and home, organization, etc. Like one time she proudly wrote about her kitchen re-do, and another time, she displayed Star Wars figures (hers or her son’s?), and then ranted about “the bra connection“.

But if you’ve been around the blogosphere for a while, you probably know her more as THE Sassy Lawyer , and she takes on labor laws, copyright infringement, and other (definitely more than) two-cents piece of her mind on issues that strike Filipinos local and abroad.

And then there’s her cooking blog, The Pinoy Cook. One of the best places in the web to find “homecooked-feel” recipes of everyday and special dishes. Going through that goldmine of a blog one would actually think she’s a chef or something Nora Daza-like… maybe not… but you get the point.

On top of that, she just started a Pinoy Moms Network.

So what’s all this about venerating Ms. Veneracion?

She’s a Filipina. :-) And her blog is a glimpse of what an empowered Filipino woman can accomplish.

You go, girl! “Yan ang Pinay!”
