Filipino solar-powered car at the World Solar Challenge 07
This is Sinag, the Philippines’ first solar powered vehicle.

Sinag, which is Tagalog for sunshine, is 100% pinoy. It was designed and engineered by De La Salle University students and faculty.
Already, the car is making an international debut.
The Philippines entered the car in the 2007 World Solar Challenge (WSC), a venue for creative minds to boost alternatives through the solar energy.
With nothing but the scorching Australian sun above them, 40 cars from 15 countries made their way across 3,000 kilometers of outback. Sinag finished well beyond expectations. Not bad, considering it’s our first time.
Way to go, Pinoy!
