Filipinos Doing Well in Billiards Championship

The International Pool Tour (IPT) 8-Ball Championship is going on right now in Las Vegas, Nevada. It started on July 22, and will end on July 30, at the Venetian. And apparently the current competition has the biggest purse so far in the IPT’s history (the grand prize is $350,000).
The Filipino contenders, led by last year’s “King of the Hill” champion Efren “Bata” Reyes, are having a strong showing. Nine players have reached Round 4, which was scheduled today.
I remember watching Bata on San Miguel Beer commercials years ago. It’s unbelievable what he can do with a cue. And I can’t believe he’s 51 years old already! Not that age matters, but… never mind. He’s still the best in billiards in the Philippines, and probably the world too! I expect him to be competing for the top spot on Sunday. ;)
Learn more about Efren through his interview at AZBilliards.com. And isn’t he just CUTE in this photo:

Good luck to Efren and the rest of the guys!
