Guilty verdict! The Joseph Estrada plunder case
I just heard this from my mom, who is listening live to the Joseph “ERAP” Estrada plunder case handled by the Sandiganbayan -
ESTRADA IS GUILTY OF PLUNDER AND IS GIVEN A LIFE SENTENCE, “reclusion perpetua”!
The deposed Philippine president will be stripped of all his properties. He will be committed to his residence at Tanay, Rizal, which is near a police camp.
ERAP’s son Jinggoy Estrada and lawyer Eduardo Serapio were not found guilty of plunder.
We definitely will hear more of this in the coming days.

Finally. The man deserves the GUILTY VERDICT. Now the nation can continue its progress. Erap is nothing but a top politician caught in his game. Plundering of more than P500 million from illegal gambling (jueteng), more than P200 million from his Muslim fund, and purchase of a P100 million mansion with a backyard white sandy beach is pure and simple evidence of CORRUPTION. If P1 million is given to every Filipino (98 million), there would only be millionaires and the poor would be gone forever. Unfortunately, ERAP returns on house arrest to his 37 acre vacation home, where he has been residing for the past 6 years. Finally, the Filipinos got justice.

i don’t support estrada and i think he got what he deserved but i don’t think justice has been completely served. i mean, if you are looking for real justice for Filipinos then Arroyo, her secretaries and her party mates should go under trial too.

Sorry Mr. Bonifacio for disagreeing your opinion. Now the nation can continue its progress? Its been years when Erap was facing this plunder case and Gloria is in the position but still I can’t see PROGRESS of the nation. Progress only for those who are already rich and in power. JUETENG is still running throughout the country especially in the provinces. Where is JUSTICE there. There are so many other politicians or people who are in power who are more corrupt than ERAP especially in Arroyo’s administration. Let’s say that GLORIA and her political advisers are wiser than ERAP, the main reason for ERAP’s downfall. The Sandigang Bayan’s decision is not in help with the nations/people peace and order especially in the nation’s progress. People will not be united but rather in chaos. And it will be inculcated in their minds that there is no really JUSTICE. The justice system in the Philippines is considered as “*****” for it is not really JUST. I’m not a pro-erap because I voted for Gloria during the election day but now “I REGRET” my vote because of my observations in her administration that the ideals and the aspirations of the people is not being crystalized that I think the main purpose of the government and since GLORIA is the head of the government she should lead the country in a better way for the peoples interest and not for her interest.

“If P1 million is given to every Filipino (98 million), there would only be millionaires and the poor would be gone forever.”
can you please compute how much will it take for the 98 million filipino if you will be given a million each?

good verdict for erap he is just reaping what he sow.
September 12th, 2007 at 5:47 am
aye, i agree on your opinion, but the question is! will the nation move in progress or blocked away by others for their purpose of fighting something that is wrong from the start just for the sake of getting power. politicians are assholes!! they crave for power

I’d just like to say na iba ang life imprisonment sa reclusion perpetua. The latter is serving in prison a maximum of 40 years.
Kaso, Erap is already 70 years old, so we will not know what will be the decision after 4-6 years kasi may parole daw. Counted na din ang 2 years imprisonment niya before.
But whatever has been the decision of the court, OK lang ako because I firmly believe in the integrity of the judges.
I know that hindi lang siya ang nangungurakot but this is a good start for our justice system.

nothing will go in progress eventhough erap was guilty in his case…yumaman ba pilipinas nung si gloria yung naka-upo na presinte ng pilipinas?…d rin nman diba??!…nothing will happen kahit ano pang gawin nila…guilty man si erap o hindi…guilty nga siya sa plunder case but i believe mas maramipang baho si gloria kaysa kay erap.!

It will not make any difference now that the disgrace Joseph Estrada was convicted. The PHILIPPINES will remain as it is.Hundreds of FACTORS why our country cannot catch up with the economy of our neighboring country.Look at Thailand napag-iwanan tayo as well as Malaysia.GOD has reason to all of these. Many are not so serious when it comes to HIM.Half-half lang.kaya half-half din ang ECONOMY natin na BLESSINGS galing sa KANYA.WE have to PRAY from our heart, seriously na may DIYOS.Yang mga leaders natin mas PRIORITY nila ang INTEREST nila sa PERA.Si Joseph Estrada, PERA ang ginawa niyang PRIORITY galing lahat sa MASAMA.Gusto niya instant!

This just means that he wasn’t carefull. He got caught which is a good thing, but not satisfying. How about the “hello garci” case and other illegal acts that were commited by the previous and present presidents and other politicians in power who also stole money from the Filipino citizens? They all should be investigated.

It’s sad to see some people’s comments here. Erap is guilty! He deserves what he got. Period. But it doesn’t change the fact na may kasalanan si Erap. WALA! Magnanakaw si Erap kaya sya nahatulan. Mag isip naman kayo!
September 13th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
guilty or not guilty si erap, it doesnt change anything, wAla pa ring progress ang pilipinas. MARAMI PA DIN MAGNANAKAW, (MAS MARAMI PA!)
September 13th, 2007 at 9:21 pm
If that’s the verdict, so be it! But one thing we can not deny, MAHIRAP pa rin ang PINAS until now. I think that republic, the longer it goes the worse it gets. I was once a “proud to be pinoy” pero now “not so proud”. Hypocrites! Kidlatan sana kayo. Kaya mga KABABAYAN na apektado kung sa tingin nyo ay wala na talagang pag-asa ang bansang yan, why not try looking for another country. It’s wise to save youself & your generations to come, hwag nyong tiisin na ang lahi nyo ay alipinin ng mga buwaya sa bulok na gobryerno ng Pinas (lalo na now, ung unanong sungagngag sa malacanyang ay no 1 dyan). Pinagkakakitaan lang kayo! It’s not worthy to pay tax to that government anymore! Layas na kayo dyan at find a greener pasture somewhere else, malawak ang mundo Kabayan & you have many choices. I think migrating abroad is better choice than magrebelde & mamundok, di ba?

Kulang pa ang verdict ni erap dapat life sentence yan!!!!
September 13th, 2007 at 10:52 pm
now, that estrada case was over, i cant see progress even in our justicians. maybe it is great if the arroyo party should be in trial too.
September 13th, 2007 at 11:49 pm
the only thing that i say to erap is godbless nalang sa kanya, kasi guilty nasiya e! pero nalulungkot din ako sa kanya, in his family coz forever nasiya sa jail hanggang doon nalang siya ma died.
September 14th, 2007 at 2:23 am
