How do you celebrate a Filipino Christmas?
Filipinos do celebrate Christmas differently, as we’ve been saying here at FS. Aside from the yummy delicacies that we load our tables with, and the other traditions/symbols we blogged about, what other Christmas traditions does your family have?
For instance, when do you celebrate Christmas - eve of, or morning?
What memories/traditions from your parents (or from the Philippines) do you still carry on with your family?
Do you go around neighborhoods or relatives and ask for an “aguinaldo” or is your home a place where everyone congragates?
Do you sing Christmas carols or tell the story of Jesus birth?
Do share! One of the blessings of being Filipino in a foreign land is bringing rich traditions into the Christmas celebration. It makes up for not being in the Philippines.
