We’re on Episode 59 :

Bubunno and his group watch from above, as Ju Mong and the Damul army depart from Bongae mountain toward Jolbon’s Gyeru. In Biryu, Sayong and Soseono are just getting into the fort when another general stops them to check the barrels. Sayong says they are merchants from Gaemak nation and sneaks some coins to the man as bribery to skip a second check on the barrels. Next, in an alley somewhere, Soseono hands a sac of powder to Chansoo to put into the wine. Chansoo wonders if they would draw too much attention if they kill the army with such power but Sayong says the power will not kill anyone it will only make a person lose strength temporarily. Thus Chansoo follows order while Soseono instructs everyone not to fight unless their life is in danger.

jumong-episode-59aBubunno’s assistant asks him if he should alert Daeso about Ju Mong leaving Bongae mountain, but Bubunno says no and wait til they find out where he is going first, so Bubunno begins following Ju Mong’s group. At nighttime, Ju Mong and the Damul army are camped out, and Bubunno tells his man he will go and kill Ju Mong himself and bring Daeso Ju Mong’s head. Bubunno’s assistant is surprised and worried, but Bubunno goes ahead with his attack. Thus, while the Damul men are enjoying a display of wrestling strength between Moogol and Hyeopbo, Bubunno begins his quiet attack. Hyeopbo wins and calls out Ju Mong to try at it next. Ju Mong steps out and agrees to wrestle against Hyeopbo and the crowd cheers. Hyeopbo says he has waged a sac of coins and asks Ju Mong what he will wager, and Ju Mong states he will wage the steel sword made by Mopalmo. The crowd cheers as Ju Mong and Hyeopbo go at it, and Bubunno disguised as a Damul soilder watches from the crowd with curiosity. Hyeopbo wins again and Ju Mong tells the dismayed Mopalmo he’ll have to create another sword for him, and Mopalmo scoffs and says what use will that be if Ju Mong can’t win, and Musong teasingly tells Ju Mong he’ll get a piece of wood and cut him a sword, and the crowd laughs with Ju Mong. Bubunno watches and is overwhelmed by Damul’s warm brotherhood, and Bubunno leaves without further attack, telling his assistant this is the first time he has witnesses such scene before one is about to wager life away, and states he was thoroughly touched by Ju Mong and the Damul army.

The Oh-ma-hyeop trio continue to run into discord with the Jae-moo-mook trio on their war strategy, and Ju Mong announces they will go toward Cheon-su first to avoid run-in with Buyeo, and Jaesa says it’s a good plan. Afterwards, Ju Mong steps outside and watches his soldiers asleep on the grounds, and Ju Mong goes through them and covers them with blankets. He then stands up and ponders upon what is to come.

Ju Mong remembers the words of Master Cheon who told him he was going to Buyeo for business and he will get Ju Mong the records of old Joseon he had wanted, and he will also check on the state of Buyeo. Ju Mong also gave Master Cheon a letter to give to Lady Yoohwa, after telling him about Yoohwa, Soya, and Yuri being held in Buyeo palace as hostage. Ju Mong remembers Master Cheon’s words that he cannot guarantee he will succeed but he will try his best to deliver Ju Mong’s letter despite the danger. Ju Mong goes inside, and Mari reports 2 of their guards are dead, and someone must be spying on them. Ju Mong says they cannot leak out they are headed toward Gyeru, and orders Mari to go and find out who is watching them. Meanwhile, Bubunno and his assistant continue to watch Ju Mong’s camp from distance, and the assistant complains about the chill and wishes to return but Bubunno says they have to wait and find out where Ju Mong is headed before they can return to Daeso in Buyeo. The assistant steps away to relieve himself and the trios spot him out and Ohyi kills him. Bubunno and a couple of Buyeo guards appear and Oh-ma-hyeop begin fighting them off, and Bubunno flees after his guards are killed.

jumong-episode-59bIn Jolbon Biryu, Soseono, Sayong and their men are hiding to check on the soldiers. While Yeontabal is in Gyeru thinking over his conversation with Soseono, asking her not to go on the mission, but Soseono insisting on going on the mission herself since the matter concerns the survival of Gyeru. Yeontabal remembers Soseono’s promise that she will surely return alive. Just then Gyepil arrives with news that Soseono and the others have gotten inside Songyang’s fort safely. Yeontabal tells Gyepil to prepare their army for departure as well, and goes out to update Yeonchaeryeong about their next move, and Yeonchaeryeong continues to try and find a way out of war, but Yeontabal says they needn’t fear war and tells Yangtak to prepare.

Meanwhile in Buyeo palace, the queen invites Mawuryeong over to take a look at Jaeboo minister’s daughter, and upon dismissing the maid, the queen tells the oracle she wants to make the maid Daeso’s concubine, and Mawuryeong agrees saying it will bring good fortune to Daeso. Yang Seolran is anxious and Haochen tells her the queen is about to make Jaeboo minister’s daughter the concubine of Daeso, and Seolran blames everything on Yesoya, for wandering around the palace with her young child to make the queen jealous. Seolran then asks about the potion sent to Yuri, and Haochen says it has not met success.

jumong-episode-59eYoohwa arrives bringing with her the potion Seolran sent to Yuri via palace maid, and Seolran acts calm and asks what brings her here and what is the bowl she brings. Yoohwa tells Seolran she brought her precious nourishment for looking favorably upon Soya and Yuri, and Seolran is momentarily startled then says she doesn’t need any nourishment and declines. Yoohwa then warns Seolran if she ever tries to harm Soya or Yuri she will only be met with tribulation. Bubunno returns to Buyeo and informs Daeso Ju Mong and Damul army have left Bongae mountain but he was unable to determine where they were headed. Naro tells Daeso this is a great opportunity for them to attack Bongae mountain, thus Daeso goes to Geumwa and tells him this is their opportunity to attack Bongae and asks Geumwa to give him an army to go and get rid of Ju Mong’s base. Geumwa says to wait, and Daeso says he will wait for Geumwa’s approval. Just then Yoohwa comes and Geumwa sends Daeso away. Yoohwa is summoned inside, and Geumwa invites her to sit, and Yoohwa asks Geumwa if there’s any hope for his condition, and Geumwa says if it’s from the heavens then there’s no way to escape it. Yoohwa asks Geumwa to free Soya and Yuri to send them to Ju Mong now and Geumwa says not to bring that up, and that he will send them when he sees fit. Geumwa says he will take great care of the two while they are in Buyeo, but Yoohwa says someone attempted to kill Yuri, and says if Geumwa doesn’t send them, then she will and gets up to leave. Geumwa raises his voice and tells Yoohwa he met with the Shijo mountain oracle who told him Buyeo would be ruined and reminds Yoohwa Ju Mong is the one who broke the Damul bow, and warns Yoohwa without Geumwa’s order Yesoya nor Yuri will be allow to escape from Buyeo thus Yoohwa must remember this. Yoohwa weeps and when she goes outside she tells herself it is time for her to part from King Geumwa.

Next, Geumwa tells Songju to send bodyguards to Yoohwa and Yesoya’s chambers to keep track of them, and Songju is surprised. When Yesoya brings Yuri to visit Yoohwa she is surprised to find the king’s guard in front of Yoohwa’s chamber, and Yesoya goes inside to inform the news to Yoohwa. Yoohwa says she already knows, and tells Yesoya they will be leaving Buyeo palace soon, and tells Soya to make preparations.

jumong-episode-59cThe queen’s maid informs the queen about Geumwa sending guards to watch Yoohwa, and the queen is happy by this and says Yoohwa will soon know what it feels like to be abandoned by the king. Master Cheon arrives in the Buyeo palace, and his contact, Tae Majin, brings him to Prince Yeongpo. Master Cheon brings Yeongpo a present as token of his sincerity and Majin opens it to show Yeongpo it is a box of gold and silver. Yeongpo is pleased and promises Master Cheon he will help him in the future. Master Cheon says he wishes to do business with Yeongpo and what he wants is records of old Joseon and if Yeongpo can get it for him he will in return give Yeongpo a handsome monetary reward. Yeongpo says it shouldn’t be so difficult to get a hold of something from a dynasty that is already ruined and Master Cheon is escorted out by Majin. Cheon then asks Majin to help him meet Lady Yoohwa, and Majin asks why he wishes to see him and says it won’t be easy since Yoohwa is under house arrest. Master Cheon says he once met her when he came to Buyeo palace and she treated him with kindness and he wishes to see her again, and Majin bribes the palace guard to allow Cheon inside. Master Cheon goes into Yoohwa’s chamber and announces he has come under Ju Mong’s request and Yoohwa is overwelmed by emotions. Cheon gives her a scroll saying it is a letter to her from commander Ju Mong and asks her read it. Master Cheon then leaves, and Yoohwa opens Ju Mong’s letter at once. In the letter, Ju Mong asks Yoohwa for forgiveness, and how whenever there is hardship, Yoohwa, Yesoya, and Yuri are the ones he thinks of, and at times he wants to abandon his fate and run toward them, but he will endure through and accomplish his grand calling. Yoohwa then shows the letter to Yesoya, who reads with tears while Yoohwa rocks Yuri in her embrace. Meanwhile, Daeso departs from Buyeo palace with an army, headed toward Bongae mountain, and Majin reports this news to Yeongpo at once. Yeongpo is surprised Geumwa approved such and Yeongpo says he is one foot too late.

In Gyeru, Soseono tells her men tonight there will be a feast for the soldiers from Hyeonto city, and gives everyone instructions on what to do. She then pulls out a map showing where Songyang’s chamber is to prepare for their assassination. After dismissing her men, Soseono remembers the last time she put her kids down, and how she told the little Biryu that she is on her way to avenge for his father and how she promised the little boy that she will stay alive to protect him until he becomes the king of a unified Jolbon. Soseono remembers this, and says a prayer to Wootae asking him to help her kill Songyang. Meanwhile, Ju Mong tells Jaesa to camp their soldiers out on the field, and tells Ohyi, Mari, and Hyeopbo to go to Gyeru with him, thus Ju Mong and the Oh-ma-hyeop trio set off toward Jolbon. When they arrive in Gyeru, Gyepil greets them and brings them to Yeontabal, who tells them Soseono has taken a group of warriors to Biryu to assassinate Songyang, and now all they can do is wait for her to return hoping for her success. Ju Mong is surprised, and when they step out, Mari tells him Soseono is in danger, and even if they succeed in killing Songyang their group would not be able to escape Biryu so easily. Ohyi and Hyeopbo agree, and urges Ju Mong to go and save her. Ju Mong thinks for a moment and tells the trio to go toward Songyang’s palace.

jumong-episode-59dSong Yang is greeting the generals from Hyeonto and invites them to drink to their mite and after they attack Gyeru, they can have all the maids and treasures in Gyeru. Outside, Soseono’s men begin setting the place on fire, and Songyang is alarmed by such news. Songyang comes out and sees the fire burning, while Soseono and a small group of men hide and watch as the clumsy and drunk soldiers walk toward the burning fire. Soseono then marches into Songyang’s courtyard and her men begin fighting off Songyang’s guards. However, more of Songyang’s soldiers arrive and soon Soseono’s group is overwhelmed by Songyang’s soldiers. Songyang tells his army Soseono came to kill him thus she mightt be captured and killed, and soon Soseono gets injured badly by the slashing of a sword upon her arm. Sayong tells Chansoo to escort Soseono away and their group begin fleeing. With Ju Mong watching from outside the scattering of Songyang’s soldiers. Soseono is in hiding and Sayong says her wounds are severe and they must find medicine to save her or else it would be hard for her to survive. Chansoo says it is too difficult to escape under the circumstance, but Sayong says he must and urges Chansoo to go out at once. Chansoo leaves, and Soseono tells Sayong to run with the remaining men but Sayong will not. Meanwhile, Songyang orders all the soldiers to go and search for her.

Ohyi returns to Ju Mong and tells him Soseono’s assasination failed and she is deeply injured and currently hiding somewhere in Biryu. Ju Mong says it will be hard for her to escape Biryu with a deep injury, thus they must find her first before Songyang. Soseono begins to lose her consciousness, while Ju Mong and his trio fight their way around Biryu in search of Soseono…
