Jumong fans, I know you’ve been waiting for this. Here’s the summary of Episode 62 !
***
Songyang invites Ju Mong to his fort alone, and Ju Mong’s advisors and Soseono insist Ju Mong shouldn’t go since Songyang cannot be trusted. However Ju Mong states Biryu people are people they should embrace as well, and that if his wish is the same as the heaven’s then they will not be forsaken by the heavens, thus he will go to Songyang alone. Ju Mong leaves, with Soseono watching worried. Afterwards, the trios are worried about Ju Mong and Hyeopbo says to discuss with Soseono if they should follow Ju Mong just in case Ju Mong is met by danger. Soseono says if the men follow Ju Mong now it could bring more danger to Ju Mong, since Ju Mong is keeping a promise to Songyang by going alone and they cannot break that promise, thus they should just wait. Soseono goes out looks troubled, when Sayong arrives to say if something goes wrong with Ju Mong then Gyeru and Damul will be deeply lost and Sayong asks her if she is really alright. Soseono asks how she can be alright when Ju Mong went to see Songyang and that she is also worried and anxious. Soseono then says, despite her worry part of her believes Ju Mong can indeed make peaceful resolution with Songyang like he says, just like he came back alive when everyone thought he was dead in the war with Jinbeom and Imdun. Since Ju Mong’s life seems to be watched over by the heavens, Soseono gathers herself and tells Sayong not to worry as Ju Mong will surely return safely. Ju Mong arrives in Biryu to meet with Songyang, and Songyang’s warrior tells Ju Mong to abandon his weapon first if he wants to meet with Chief Songyang, and Ju Mong gets off his horse and surrenders his sword to the Biryu warrior. Ju Mong is led into Songyang’s fort, and as soon as he enters, Ju Mong is surrounded by Biryu army men. The warrior orders attack and the army begins attacking the unarmed Ju Mong. Ju Mong defends himself before the many men, and he grabs one of the fallen army man’s weapon and begins to fight more, when Songyang arrives watching from a distance. Songyang’s warrior tells him their archiliary team repared and if Songyang gives the order they will have Ju Mong killed right away. Songyang tells the crowd to stop fighting, and tells Ju Mong he is a man of blind-faith and that he did not expect Ju Mong to really come alone. Ju Mong replies he may be blind-faithed, but he knows Songyang is not so, and that he came to keep his promise with Songyang, but if Biryu insists on attacking then they will be destroyed by Damul army. Meanwhile, Songyang’s warrior goes to tell the Biryu army that Damul army could come attack them anytime thus they must remain watchful and prepared.
Songyang brings Ju Mong inside, and Songyang claims each time he went to war for his people, Ju Mong was there to block him. Songyang says he could have killed him, and asks Ju Mong why he came alone like this. Ju Mong replies he came to show Songyang that he has no intention to make Biryu kneel down, and that there is no need for a bloody war since that is not what the heaven’s want. Songyang says Biryu will not be ruined, and Ju Mong states he wishes to join hands with Biryu not to destroy Biryu but to build a new nation together as a unifed Jolbon and Damul. Ju Mong says if they do so they can be a strong force which can even power over Han nation. Songyang scoffs saying it is not so easy to overcome Han nation, and that even though the world sees him as a dog of Han nation for dealing with the Hans, what he has done is to protect Biryu and Jolbon all these years. Ju Mong asks Songyang how much longer does he think Han will help him, and that at the very moment the Han nation is probably scheming to get rid of him. Ju Mong says if Songyang rejects his offer then they must endure a tough battle with each other; however if they join hands, then they can be a stronger nation than Han. Songyang is speechless and Ju Mong urges Songyang to not be afraid of Han nation any longer, and that a unifed Jolbon will be protected by he and the Damul army, and that this is the choice of the heavens. Songyang thinks over it and orders his man to bring in the items they have prepared. The man brings in two goblets and Songyang tells Ju Mong one goblet is wine, and the other is filled with poison, and tells Ju Mong to prove that he is indeed the choice of the heavens.
Meanwhile Sosoeno continues to worry back in Gyeru. As Ju Mong pauses before the goblets, Songyang asks Ju Mong if he is fearful and tells Ju Mong to make his selection and that if he chooses the wine then he will follow his will. Ju Mong picks a goblet and drinks it. He then picks up the other goblet and drinks it as well. Songyang asks him if he wishes to die, and Ju Mong says there is no poison and that Songyang is merely testing him, and that if he is wrong then he is prepared for death. Songyang is rendered speechless and begins laughing. When Ju Mong tells him it is time for Songyang to make his decision, whether to join hands with him or to fight against the Damul army. In Gyeru, the trios are worried about Ju Mong saying it is passed the time when commander Ju Mong should be due back and Soseono is wondering what to do. When Ohyi runs with news Ju Mong is returning. Soseono asks Ju Mong how did it go, and Ju Mong says they just have to wait for Chief Songyang’s decision now. In Biryu, Songyang thinks over his circumstance.
Next, in Gyeru open field, Ju Mong, Soseono and their people watch as Songyang and his group are approaching from the distance. Soon, Songyang appears before then and walks toward Ju Mong to tell him he will follow grand commander Ju Mong’s wish. The crowd cheers and Jaesa leads them to shout hooray to Jolbon. Soseono is teary and happy that this day has come. Sayong then rushes to Yeontabal to tell him the news. Mopalmo says he knew that Ju Mong would succeed, and Sayong tells Yeontabal Ju Mong has asked Yeontabal to relate the news to Gwan-na, Yeon-na and Hwan-na leaders and to prepare for the unification of Jolbon. Yeontabal says he will, and Mopalmo tells Musong to give him the wager since he won their bet about whether or not they will go to war, and Gyepil scolds the two saying that is why they are still single at that age.
In Buyeo, Songju brings news of what is happening in Jolbon with Ju Mong’s success, and King Geumwa is falling sick from the shock. Next, the palace doctor examines Geumwa who is resting in bed and the doctor tells Daeso Geumwa will regain consciousness after some rest, but that his heart is heavily blocked. Daeso blames it on Ju Mong, and Budeukbul urges Daeso to call for court session immediately. Meanwhile the queen finds out Songyang gave in to Ju Mong and the queen is furious, but her brother comforts her saying this may be a good opportunity for Daeso to inherit the throne, but the queen scolds him saying at this rate Ju Mong could attack them anytime, and what use is Daeso’s throne if Buyeo comes to ruins. The queen asks the oracle Mawuryeong what to do, and Mawuryeong says their only option at this time is to ask Han nation for help, and since King Geumwa would never reach to Han nation, the queen must come forward. Songju comes to Yoohwa to tell her the king has asked to see her, and Yoohwa follows, but Songju urges her to be careful of what she says since the king is ill at the moment. Yoohwa arrives in Geumwa’s chamber, and a weak sounding Geumwa calls out to Yoohwa and tells her what he has feared is becoming reality and that Ju Mong has convinced Songyang and unified Jolbon. Yoohwa is surprised and Geumwa says now Ju Mong can easily destroy Buyeo. Geumwa says he is fearful of Ju Mong who is running toward them, and he is fearful that their (Geumwa -Yoohwa) relationship will never be the same. Yoohwa urges Geumwa to acknowledge Ju Mong since that is the way to save Ju Mong and Buyeo both. Yoohwa says she too is fearful that her destiny with the king will end in such darkness.
Yoohwa then visits Yesoya and Yuri, and Yoohwa tells Yesoya she was just visiting the king and asked Songju to allow her to visit Yuri momentarily. Yoohwa tells Yuri and Yesoya Ju Mong who went to Gyeru has unified Jolbon and that she only needs to wait a little longer now. Meanwhile the queen summons Yang Seolran to her chamber, and gives her special nourishing medicine put together by the palace doctor. The queen tells Seolran she is Daeso’s back, thus she must remain strong for Daeso. Seolran agrees, and the queen says she has a request for her as well. Next, Seolran walks away from the queen’s chamber and tells Haochen she will visit Daeso in his study. Seolran arrives and Daeso asks why she is here. Seolran states she had heard about Songyang and Ju Mong, and Daeso says just like she said, while Ju Mong unified Jolbon and reaching for the heavens he did nothing in Buyeo. Seolran says this crisis is an opportunity for Daeso, and tells her she will ask her father thus Daeso should prepare for Buyeo to join alliance with Han nation.
In Jolbon, a sacred ceremony is conducted by the starchild for the unification of Jolbon, and Soseono presents her a bowl containing the blood of Ju Mong and the chiefs of Jolbon. Oracle Soryeong dips her brush into the blood and with it she paints a picture of the 3-legged crow, and the crowd shouts ‘long live Jolbon’. Ju Mong silences the crowd and tells the crowd the 3-legged crow is the symbol of their new nation together, and from this moment forward, Damul army and Jolbon people are brothers of same blood, and from now on they will together build a strong nation upon the glory of old Joseon. The crowd cheers as some are shedding tears of joy. Soseono smiles at her father Yeontabal and he beams back at her.
In Buyeo, Daeso summons Bubunno, and Daeso shows them Bubunno’s family who are brought here from the border. Bubunno’s mother, brother and sister are clad in new clothes and later Naro tells Bubunno Daeso sent Bubunno’s family precious food and textile. Daeso says he should’ve sent them these things sooner and Bubunno replies he will not forget about Daeso’s gifts. Daeso tells Bubunno as he knows the situation in Buyeo is dire, and tells Bubunno to use the opportunity to set an impressive deed for Buyeo, as to go to Gyeru and kill Ju Mong. Bubunno is shocked and Daeso tells Bubunno right now Gyeru is not turning away refugees, thus Bubunno could go in there disguised as a refugee. Daeso tells Bubunno if he succeeds in killing Ju Mong whom the many army men could not do thus far, Bubunno will be treasured by Buyeo as top general. Naro tells Bubunno while he is doing all this in Gyeru, he will watch over Bubunno’s family, but if Bubunno has other thoughts his family will not survive. Bubunno says nothing and just glances at Daeso. Yeongpo drinks and says he knew Ju Mong had some skills but he did not know how great he really is to be able to unify Jolbon under him. Majin says Yeongpo should set some ambitious deed as well and urges him to go to Chang-ahn City for a while.
In Gyeru, Mopalmo runs to Ju Mong to tell him he at last succeeded in making steel vests that even the arrows cannot penetrate. Mopalmo escorts Ju Mong and the trio to the courtyard to show how it works, and the trio are impressed by Mopalmo’s feat. Ju Mong looks at the steel vest and says it is too heavy to use for Damul assasins, and Mopalmo apologizes and promises to make lighter ones soon. Just then Gyepil runs to tell Ju Mong Yeontabal is looking for him. Ju Mong goes to Yeontabal and Soseono, and asks what summons him, and Yeontabal says there is a place they should go together, and when Ju Mong asks where Yeontabal says he will find out when he goes with them. Thus, Yeontabal leads them to the place, and when Hyeopbo asks Sayong where they are headed, Sayong says nothing only smiling away.
At last they arrive at a grand palace fort, and Yeontabal tells Ju Mong this is the palace for the unified Jolbon and Damul, and that he had prepared this place for a long time for this day. Ju Mong and the Damul group are speechless at how big it is, and Ju Mong asks Yeontabal how he was able to build such a grand palace under Songyang’s watchful eyes, and Yeontabal replies it was Soseono’s doing. Sayong explains Soseono put all the money they had earned from their business into the construction of this place, and without Soseono’s ambition for future this place would not exist. Soseono says now that Jolbon is unified, this is where their new nation should be gathered. Soseono shows them around, and Yeontabal says now that Damul and Jolbon are one, it is time they come up with a new name for their joint nation as well. The Gyeru people and Damul people part, and Ju Mong then tells Ohyi, Hyeopbo, Mookgeo and Moogol to being working on development of new nation, but Jaesa says the most important matter has yet to be agreed on, which is who will reign the new nation, and Ju Mong says nothing. Meanwhile, Soseono is meeting with her advisors and Sayong says Soseono must reign the new nation since she is the one who built the palace, despite what the Damul may want and Soseono also says nothing. Jaesa continues to advise Ju Mong he must make things clear now and Mari says Soseono is not one who will bring trouble to them, and Jaesa says that is not a certain thing. Ju Mong says that is a matter he will consider alone and tells the trios not to bring it up again.
That night, Ju Mong thinks over the matter alone at night, as Soseono also thinks alone pacing back and forth in her private chamber. Later, Soseono comes to see Ju Mong who says he was about to go see her too. Soseono looks at him, and Ju Mong shows him a textile panel with Goguryeo written on it. Ju Mong asks Soseono what she thinks of it, and Soseono reads Goguryeo. Ju Mong says it means to be the brightest and highest nation in the world, and that in that name rests his long time passion to build the strongest nation for the many citizens. Soseono looks at him, and asks Ju Mong to be the king of Goguryeo. Ju Mong says nothing, and Soseono says when she wasn’t able to forgive Songyang, it was then when he said Biryu are people they should embrace as well, and Soseono says if he didn’t show her that they would be at war now and Jolbon would not be unifed. Soseono insists she is a small-hearted person who wishes to serve Ju Mong who has the calling of old Joseon glory. Soseono tells Ju Mong she believes he will surely build the kind of nation she longs for and Ju Mong glances at her touched by what she has said.
Yangjeong arrives in Buyeo, and Daeso brings him to go see Geumwa. Yangjeong and Geumwa show a tension between them, and Yangjeong tells Geumwa the only way to get rid of Ju Mong is for Buyeo to join with Han nation so they can together eliminate Jolbon. Daeso tells Geumwa governor Yangjeong is correct, and they must do so or else Ju Mong will bring danger to them. Geumwa says nothing and Yangjeong asks Geumwa if he will agree.
Meanwhile, in Gyeru border, Bubunno disguised as a fleeing refugee from Okjeo enters Gyeru. As he passes by, Ohyi sees him as someone familiar and asks Bubunno if he is really from Okjeo. Bubunno replies yes, and Ohyi tells him to pass through. Afterwards, Ohyi tells Mari he saw the man somewhere from before. And Hyeopbo says that might just be someone similar to someone else. The Oh-ma-hyeop trio tell Ju Mong refugees are coming in nonstop but they must stop them from entering further since at this rate their grains will be gone. Ju Mong says they cannot send back refugees who have walked such distance without any other hope and says he will find a way to solve the problem thus they should continue to allow refugees in. Bubunno sees a notice in Gyeru wall that they are holding a expo to find skilled people among the refugees, and Bubunno sees his opportunity. At the expo, Bubunno distinguishes himself as a superior fighter, while Ju Mong watches. Yangtak introduces Bubunno to Ju Mong and Ju Mong asks him where he is from and Bubunno says he is from Okjeo and Ju Mong says his fist skills is good and Bubunno says he was a fighter in Okjeo. Ju Mong then tells Moogol to go against Bubunno on swordsory fight, and the two men exchange swords as Ju Mong and the others watch. After a while, Ju Mong calls a halt to it, and asks Bubunno what his name is. Ju Mong calls him by name, and tells Mari to make Bubunno a warrior.
