Late into the night, Bubunno sneaks around the place, and soon he is outside of Ju Mong’s sleeping chamber where Ju Mong is resting for the night. Bubunno draws his knife and heads toward Ju Mong’s room, when Soseono and Sayong arrive, calling Ju Mong out to see them. Ju Mong awakes and let’s Soseono and Sayong enter. Bubunno puts his knife away and leaves, while Soseono reports to Ju Mong the news that their merchant leader who went to Haeng-in nation was captured and killed. Ju Mong asks why the merchant group was attacked, and Sayong replies it was the works of Yeo-na army of Han and Buyeo nation. Ju Mong is surprised to hear this, and Soseono says Han nation and Buyeo have joined alliance, and they are spreading their attacks on neighboring nations, with Jolbon as target.

Next morning Songyang and other Jolbon chiefs arrive to meet with Ju Mong and yangtak notices the angry look on the chiefs and wonders if they will meet difficulty in unification. The chiefs are worried and angry over their future now that unified Han and Buyeo are taking over the lands and goods from the lands, and Soseono says they can for now use salt to trade for goods, and Ju Mong tells the chiefs he will be in charge of the matter himself thus the chiefs needn’t worry. Songyang speaks up and says in order to reach Gosan nation for salt, one would have to pass through Seosan nation, however as he knows it Seosan is already under Han and Buyeo rule. Songyang says the route to Gosan nation is blocked thus what use is it if there is salt for them there. The chiefs are worried that Jolbon people will fall in the hands of Han in no time as they have no way of getting goods and food into Jolbon, and Songyang reminds Ju Mong he promised to be responsible for everything and states if their crisis isn’t solved soon then they cannot guarantee what actions might follow from them.

Sayong confirms to Yeontabal that even Bogok-jeo has fallen, and Yeontabal tells Ju Mong with them sharing grains with refugees their food supply will not last long if they don’t think of a solution soon. In Buyeo, King Geumwa and Hyeonto’s Yangjeong are meeting with messengers from the many nations that are aligned to Han and Buyeo. Buduekbul tells Geumwa the messengers are from nations of Okjeo, Eumnu, Sookjeo, Haeng-in, Seon-mi-jok, Heuk-seon, Malgajok, Seosan jok, Yeonbaek, Soosan, and such, but Geumwa stops him and asks why there is no messener from Mawu which made treaties with Jolbon, and Buduekbul says Mawu is still stubborn against their conquer, and Geumwa tells Head General Heukchi to bring army toward Mawujok, and to force them to concede or else to kill the tribe leader. Yangjeong also tells the messengers from now they are to obey Han and Buyeo, and Geumwa warns them if anyone tries to build alliance or make deals with Jolbon, they will be the first to be attacked by Han and Buyeo army. Afterwards, Yangjeong celebrates with Daeso and yangseolran, and Yangjeong says in no time Jolbon will be in their control. Daeso says as Jolbon begins to lose its grains, they should prepare to attack them soon, and Yangjeong agrees and reminds Daeso that in all these matters, Seolran is one who contributed greatly as she is the one who convinced him to help Buyeo. Daeso says he knows and thanks Seolran infront of Yangjeong. Seolran replies as long as she can help Daeso regain his power she is capable of doing anything. Next, Daeso meets with Naro alone and asks if they have heard from Bubunno and Naro says not yet. Daeso then asks Naro to go find out what happened to the spy they sent to Jolbon.

Jumong Episode 63cIn Jolbon, the spy sent by Daeso meets up with Bubunno and asks Bubunno why he hasn’t killed Ju Mong yet and asks Bubunno if he is a Jolbon general now. Bubunno replies he did so in order to get close to Ju Mong and he is waiting for the right opportunity to kill him and now that he can be close to him he should be able to kill him soon. The spy leaves and reminds Bubunno not to forget that his family is still in the Buyeo palace. Meanwhile Mopalmo, Gyepil, and Mudeok continues to distribute food rations to the refugees, when a young man steals Gyepil’s money bag and tries to run. They catch him right away and the young man blows some powder onto Musong’s face and attempts to run again, but Mopalmo catches him and looks at his powder bag and discovers it is Bakguk powder. Mopalmo asks how the young man knew about Bakguk powder, and he says nothing. Just then more young men come forward and tells Gyepil and Mopalmo not to mistreat their commander. Gyepil scoffs them and says they are all thieves, and calls for men to throw the boys into prison, but Mopalmo stops Gyepil and tells the boys to work under him from now on. Gyepil complains but Mopalmo tells him to let go of the matter and Mopalmo brings the 5 or so boys away and compliments on their skills on knowing what to do with Bakguk powder and thus they should come work under him. Mopalmo tells the boys after their new nation is built, he will not only develop weapons he will work on farm science and asks the boys if they will work for him, and the boys agree.

Jaesa tells Ju Mong if they don’t come up with a solution soon, Songyang will back out from unification, and Ohyi suggests they should attack the joint Yeo-na army of Han and Buyeo first, and Ju Mong says the group led by Bubunno is not prepared to attack any army at the moment and Jolbon is in no position to lose army at current. Ju Mong says they need to focus on getting salt from Gosan first, and Ju Mong tells Soseono to contact Baemang to see if he can bring salt from Gosan to them. Sayong says he will go on the mission himself and Hyeopbo is nervious by it. At night, Bubunno overhears the guards worried about their future against Buyeo, when one of the guards says they just need to believe in Ju Mong and all will be well. Just then Ju Mong passes by and the guard tells Ju Mong despite any crisis they may be in they believe in Ju Mong’s leadership, and Ju Mong puts his hand on the guard and asks about the guard’s son Sangcheon whom Ju Mong named for him, and another guard tells Ju Mong a second son is already on the way for him since he is gifted with child-making, and Ju Mong tells the guard when his second child is born he will name the child too thus he should inform him when it is born. The guard expresses his gratitude, as Bubunno watches. Ju Mong then goes to Bubunno and says he is working hard and asks him how the work is going. The guard with son tells Ju Mong Bubunno is good looking thus there is no worry and asks Ju Mong to help the other guard, Manchoon, marry soon since he is not handsome. Ju Mong laughs and says he will, and leaves. After he leaves, Bubunno asks the guard if it is true that Ju Mong really named his son, and the guard replies it is so, as Ju Mong names all the children born in their camp. The other guard speaks up and tells Bubunno all the soilders are loyal to Ju Mong and they will do anything for him.

Jumong Episode 63dThe spy returns to Buyeo, and tells Daeso Bubunno has yet to kill Ju Mong but he has already gained Ju Mong’s trust thus he will soon succeed on his mission. Daeso asks about Jolbon’s state, and the spy says they are in disarray and in addition, Songyang’s Biryu due to its outer location is getting nonstop rain poured on. Daeso tells the spy he should go to Biryu in that case and spread the rumor that they are getting punished by the heavens because of their alliance with Ju Mong. After the spy leaves, Daeso tells Naro Ju Mong will do anything to keep Jolbon independent right now, and his biggest asset is the salt in Gosan nation, thus Naro should make sure that no salt can go from Gosan to Gyeru. Thus, Naro brings an army and they hide en route as Sayong escorts General Baemang to Jolbon. Just as Sayong and Baemang pass through, Naro and his army begin attack and in no time, Naro kills Baemang, and Sayong loses his men. Sayong then gets on a horse and flees the scene, and returns to Gyeru with the bad news. Sayong tells Ju Mong the Han and Buyeo Yeo-na army were waiting for them to fall into their trap and they killed Baemang and captured all their goods. Jaesa asks if this means they have no other way now, and Ju Mong sits down with them to they must head south and Sayong says that is impossible, but Soseono says they have to make the impossible possible, and Ju Mong tells everyone she and Soseono will find a way thus they trios should find out what Han and Buyeo are up to next. Meanwhile, Ohyi continues to feel uneasy about Bubunno and he watches Bubunno intensely as he trains the soilders. Ohyi says though Bubunno claimed he came from Okjeo, his swordsory is trademark of Buyeo army, but Hyeopbo and Mookgol aren’t worried by it, while Ohyi continues to be disturbed as he states surely he has seen him somewhere from before.

At night time, Bubunno sneaks around the fort again, while Ohyi tries to remember where he had seen Bubunno before. Bubunno continues to sneak around while Ohyi goes to the guards and asks where Bubunno went. The guard says he was here til not long ago but now he’s missing. Ohyi is suddenly alarmed by it, and goes toward Ju Mong’s chamber. Outside Ju Mong’s chamber, Bubunno arrives and he puts a mask around his face as he enters into Ju Mong’s chamber. Bubunno is about to slash Ju Mong with his knife, when Ju Mong awakes and pushes him off. Bubunno then flees, and Ju Mong runs after him. However, Ju Mong catches up to him and the two begin fighting, when Ohyi arrives, calling out to Ju Mong. Ju Mong has his sword around Bubunno, and Ohyi unmasks Bubunno to reveal his identity. Bubunno is brought into the center of the courtyard and Soseono arrives asking what has happened. Ohyi reports Bubunno tried to kill Ju Mong, and Ohyi asks Bubunno where he came from. Bubunno replies Okjeo and Bubunno kicks him telling him to tell the truth. Bubunno insists he is from Okjeo and Ohyi kicks him again and tells Bubunno his swordsory is from Buyeo and Ohyi puts his sword to Bubunno’s throat and asks him to confess. Ju Mong asks Bubunno to tell the truth as is, and asks Bubunno who sent him. Bubunno looks up to Ju Mong and replies he was ordered to kill Ju Mong by Prince Daeso. The gathered are shocked, and Bubunno confesses Daeso was using the opportunity that Ju Mong is accepting refugees without condition and he sent him here. Before coming here, Bubunno says he was an assistant commander inside Buyeo palace. Bubunno asks for death, and Ju Mong looks at him for a while. Bubunno then says before he dies he wishes to say one thing to him, which is that a long time ago, he went to Bongae mountain on Daeso’s order when Ju Mong was moving from Bongae to Gyeru. Bubunno says he killed a couple of Damul guards on that night and snuck inside and was deeply touched by what he saw in the bonding between Ju Mong and the Damul people, but Bubunno says he had to come with intention to kill Ju Mong but he sincerely respects Ju Mong and says had the heavens allowed him to meet Ju Mong first, before meeting Daeso, then his life would’ve been different. Bubunno says he came because he was under threat that Daeso would kill Bubunno’s mother and siblings. And that in the short time he was in Gyeru, he was truly happy, and tells Ju Mong if he is born again in the next life, he will serve Ju Mong. With this Bubunno asks for death. Ju Mong tells Bubunno’s bonds to be removed, but Mari says not to give into Bubunno’s scheme and that he must be killed. Ju Mong orders Bubunno to be raised and freed, and Ju Mong tells Bubunno to go back to Buyeo. Bubunno says since he failed his mission he will be killed by Daeso regardless, thus he would rather die in Ju Mong’s hands instead of Daeso’s and Bubunno asks Ju Mong to kill him again; however Ju Mong tells Bubunno to go to Buyeo and reports to Daeso that he killed Ju Mong. Everyone is shocked, and Ju Mong then says if Bubunno does not return with Ju Mong’s head Daeso would not believe it, thus he will arrange so that Daeso has no doubt. Ju Mong tells Bubunno to return to Buyeo with this and to free his family, since he understands how heavy the weight he is carrying, with the lives of his family upon his shoulders. Bubunno is touched beyond speech, and he calls out to Ju Mong as grand commander and he kneels before Ju Mong. Those gathered watch, seemingly touched as well, and Soseono moves her sight from Bubunno to Ju Mong.

Jumong Episode 63gNext, in Buyeo palace, Naro tells Daeso Bubunno has returned. Bubunno tells Daeso he has killed Ju Mong, and Daeso asks if it is true. Naro asks where Ju Mong’s head is, and Bubunno says he killed Ju Mong but due to the soldiers arriving he was unable to cut his head off. Naro asks how they can believe him then, and Bubunno says he made sure that Ju Mong’s heart stopped beating but Daeso asks if he is sure. Bubunno replies yes, and Daeso and Naro return to the study suspicious. Naro asks Daeso if he believes Bubunno and Daeso says nothing but sighs. Naro says it is hard to believe that he really killed Ju Mong when he has returned safely without any wounds. Daeso tells Naro to ask the spy in Gyeru if what has been told is true, and for the meanwhile to keep a close eye on Bubunno’s actions. Meanwhile, Bubunno thinks over Ju Mong’s words that he would help him make sure Daeso believe what Bubunno tells him. Naro watches Bubunno from a distance and Naro is suspicious, thus he tells his guards to keep a close eye on Bubunno.

In Buyeo, Naro tells Daeso they received a message from their Gyeru spy to say that Ju Mong cannot be seen anywhere. Daeso asks if this means Ju Mong is dead, and Naro says that cannot be confirmed but for sure Ju Mong is missing. The queen’s brother overhears and asks Daeso if that is really true. Daeso says Bubunno claims Ju Mong is dead but they are still unsure. The minister says if Ju Mong is not seen in public during a crisis in Jolbon then for sure he is dead. Daeso goes to Mawuryeong and asks her to use her power to see if there is anything about Ju Mong that she can find out. Mawuryeong worships before a shrine and tells Daeso something has changed about Ju Mong, and Daeso is pleased, believing that this is the confirmation he wanted.
The queen’s brother tells the queen that Ju Mong has been killed by Daeso’s assasin, and the queen sighs joyfully. The queen says she will visit Yoohwa next.

Just then the queen walks to them and says her dreams are correct. The queen tells them Ju Mong has died. The queen then says even if it’s hard to believe it is true as he is not seen in Jolbon. Yoohwa says Ju Mong would not die so easily as he will surely build a strong nation to go against Han. The queen says Yoohwa will soon feel the reality set in soon and she leaves. Soya weeps and Yoohwa says that is impossible. As she shivers startled. Next, Daeso informs Geumwa about Ju Mong being killed by his assasin, and Geumwa asks if it is really true, as Daeso replies it is a sure fact. Geumwa says nothing as he is in disbelief, and Daeso tells the queen Jolbon should belong to Buyeo in the first place, thus he will use Han to throw Jolbon into a confused state, and Daeso asks Geumwa for army to use for attacking Jolbon soon. Geumwa is tearful and he tells Daeso to do as he asked.

Meanwhile, outside Jolbon, Ohyi reports to Ju Mong and Soseono that the path toward Okjeo has Han and Buyeo’s Yeona army, and Mari worries as they must pass through Okjeo to ge to Eumnu, thus the face off might be inevitable. Ju Mong tells his men to prepare themselves as they will battle against the Yeona army in order to go pass Okjeo to Eumnu.
