Mopalmo tells a starving man among them to eat ample to his content and Musong then pours a goblet for Mopalmo as well. Mopalmo states it is the best wine he’s had in his whole life and upon drinking his he pours a goblet for Chief Soseono, who accepts it happily. Soseono drinks it all up and tells the people around her it is indeed the best wine she’s had and since she’s lived so anxiously for such a long time, tonight she will ease her tension and drink til she is drunk. The people continue their celebration into the night with dancing following the feast. Yeontabal watches Soseono smiling among the crowd and he becomes tearful. Soseono spots him out and goes to him, asking if he cried, but Yeontabal laughs it off saying he wasn’t, and thanks her for giving him this kind of joy while he is alive. Yeontabal then looks up the sky and comments the moon is even brighter tonight. The father and daughter talk more and Yeontabal tells Soseono he knows how much she has suffered all these years, and that without the suffering they wouldn’t have this joy they have today, and Yeontabal says the real war may be just starting, with many important decisions to make. Soseono says as they are building Goguryeo, the utmost important matter is to be united, and tells Yeontabal not to worry.

Jumong-episode-72bWhile the people are celebrating outside, Ju Mong and the trios, along with Buwuiyeom wine together inside, celebrating their success and future. Jaesa tells Ju Mong according to Yangtak they are almost ready to move into their palace. Ju Mong tells his generals without them this day would not come to be able to drink together like this, and Jaesa in turn says without Ju Mong they wouldn’t be here and the group drinks together in elation, with Ju Mong telling them to drink without worrying about anything. Ju Mong steps out, and Moogol mutters after drinking he really misses Mudeok the maid, and Buwuiyeom asks who this Mudeok is. Moogol laughs saying she is his woman, and the men laugh together. Hyeopbo comments it is a little off to be drinking with just men, and Ohyi teases him asking if he’s missing Sayong. Buwuiyeom asks isn’t Sayong a man, but Mari replies to them Sayong is seen as a man, but to Hyeopbo he is a woman. At this, everyone laughs while Hyeopbo complains. After stepping outside, Ju Mong is met by Bubunno, who tells Ju Mong Yesoya and Yuri were not found anywhere in Hyeonto, and even though he had hoped prince Yeongpo’s words were true, it seems likely that the two indeed did not survive. Bubunno says it is his fault for not rescuing them when he left Buyeo, and Ju Mong says it is time for him to accept Yesoya and Yuri’s death and to put them in his heart, but since he never met Yuri, he is unable to rest him in his heart. Ju Mong is tearful and asks Bubunno what Yuri looks like. Bubunno replies Yuri had bright eyes, and even though he’s never seen Ju Mong’s image from childhood, he is certain that Yuri looked like Ju Mong. Ju Mong sighs as he tears more at this.

Jumong-episode-72cMeanwhile, in Buyeo palace, a beaten Daeso returns with few remaining soldiers and Naro tells the ministers Ju Mong killed Yang Jeong and seized Hyeonto fort. Budeukbul asks what happened to General Heukchi, and Naro replies he must be on his way to return to Buyeo with his army group. Daeso says nothing, and the palace minister reports news of the defeat to the queen, saying Seolran’s life is uncertain as she is still in Hyeonto fort. The queen asks if Daeso is alright, and the palace minister says he is not hurt but his army was killed, and Ju Mong cannot be stopped by anyone and he will certainly be king. Next, Daeso who is fuming thrusts himself into the oracle chamber and tells Mawuryeong if she tries to stop him then he will kill her first. Daeso then takes Yoohwa’s memorial tablet and throws it onto the ground, yelling out to Naro to destroy the tablet at once. Just then King Geumwa arrives and shouts to Daeso asking what he is doing. Geumwa says Daeso should be repenting if he lost in the war and lost his army, but Daeso says it makes no sense to keep Yoohwa’s tablet in Buyeo’s oracle chamber, when Yoohwa is the mother of Ju Mong their enemy. Geumwa says he clearly stated he would give Yoohwa the burial of a queen and orders Daeso to leave. Daeso asks Geumwa for more army to go after Ju Mong, and Geumwa declines, saying Ju Mong is one who couldn’t even be stopped by Hyeonto, and for him to build a new nation is the will of the heaven which cannot be stopped by anyone. Daeso says Geumwa never puts him as priority and swears even if Ju Mong is the will of the heaven he will stop that will. Geumwa scoffs him, but Daeso says what he fears is not Ju Mong who has iron army, but Geumwa, who will not trust in him. Daeso asks Geumwa why he can’t trust his skills, why he can’t believe that he will protect Buyeo. Daeso is tearful and says Geumwa never trusted him, and even until now Ju Mong still remains in Geumwa’s heart. Geumwa says nothing, and Daeso says since Geumwa cannot escape from the curse of Haemosu and Yoohwa, he will proceed to kill Ju Mong and save Buyeo. Geumwa angrily shouts out if Daeso goes after his power again he will not be forgiven. Daeso yells out father king to Geumwa, but Geumwa warns Daeso if he tries to move Buyeo army without his permission then he will be punished. Geumwa leaves, and Daeso weepingly states the one who is destroying Buyeo is none other than King Geumwa and he will surely put a stop to it. Next day, King Geumwa coughs up some blood.

Jumong-episode-72dIn Hyeonto City, Yeongpo has arrived in disguise and meets with Majin to find out where Yesoya and Yuri could’ve gone. Majin says she was not found here or in Jolbon and since many people died during the turmoil, she might be dead. Another servant says their spies in Jolbon have confirmed that she never arrived in Jolbon. Yeongpo wonders what his strategy is now, and says he must meet Minister Hwang who can surely help him. The servant replies Minister Hwang was captured by Ju Mong’s men and is in prison, and Yeongpo is dismayed. Majin says Yeongpo must return to Buyeo, but Yeongpo thinks Daeso won’t let him survive. Majin replies on the queen’s account, Daeso won’t harm him, thus they should return to Buyeo at once. When they arrive in Buyeo palace, the queen’s men captures him and takes him to the queen. The queen asks Yeongpo if he’s found a way to escape his treason, but Yeongpo says no. The queen tells Yeongpo to run away from Buyeo to avoid Daeso’s fury as Daeso is looking for Yeongpo right now. Yeongpo complains the queen only cares about Daeso and Daeso is the only one in her heart, thus he will leave, as there is no reason for him to stay in Buyeo anymore. The queen cries as he leaves, and Yeongpo goes out to meet Majin telling him they should leave. Majin asks where to, and Yeongpo says he doesn’t know either but they must leave Buyeo. Majin is surprised, but Yeongpo starts walking away. Meanwhile, Naro reports to Daeso Seolran is being kept in a chamber in Hyeonto fort, and tells Daeso not to worry too much as she is Buyeo Crown Princess thus they won’t kill her. Naro asks if he should send some attackers to go and rescue her, but Daeso tells him to be quiet and curses Ju Mong. Seolran and Haochen are locked inside a room in Hyeonto fort, and Seolran is anxious to get out, but Haochen asks to wait for news from their people. Minister Hwang who is kept inside the prison gets summoned, and taken before Jaesa who asks for Hwang’s name. Hwang lies about his name and when Jaesa asks about his family, Hwang replies he has no family and he only came to Hyeonto for business. Jaesa orders Hwang to be taken away, but Mookgeo stops them and tells Jaesa that Hwang is the minister who is a relative of the Han imperial.

Jumong-episode-72eMari escorts Ju Mong, Soseono and Sayong out to the field, and Mari tells Ju Mong the wide Yeon-cheon field, together with the Hyeonto fort now belong to Jolbon. Ju Mong says Yeon-cheon is where his father Haemosu and Damul army fought with Han army, and this land is where they will raise the Damul army. Soseono says the problem is that the people who are now part of Hyeonto were mostly from Yeodong and thus they are Han people, and many escaped to Han during the war when Hyeonto was falling, but there are still some remaining in Hyeonto fort, and Ju Mong must decide what to do with these citizens. Mari says they must kill them to get rid of the root, but Ju Mong says they are mere people and if they want to remain in Hyeonto they should accept them. The foursome return to and Hyeopbo reports an uprising has occurred among the remnants when they discovered Minister Hwang was among the prisoners. Hyeopbo says Hwang was behind much oppression thus they wish to kill Hwang with their own hands now. Jaesa is trying to calm the migrants who have tied up Hwang to a pole, telling Hwang he will be killed slowly so he can feel the pain he has caused them. Just then Ju Mong arrives and tells the gathered to calm down. The migrants say they cannot listen to Ju Mong, and they must kill Hwang. A man cries and says his wife was killed because of Hwang and begs Ju Mong to let him kill Hwang to undo his wife’s misery. Ju Mong goes up to Hwang, who tells him to kill him at once, but Ju Mong tells Hwang it is easy for him to kill him right now but he will not kill him. The migrants yell out asking Ju Mong to kill Hwang, but Ju Mong says they cannot kill Han nation’s hostage, since many migrants are still in Han’s custody. Ju Mong says he will use Hwang as hostage for exchange, but if the people insist then he will kill Hwang, thus Ju Mong asks the people to decide whether they will save the other migrants in Han, or whether they will let them die. The people say there were short-sighted and tells Ju Mong they will follow his will. Next, Ohyi and Moogol arrive by the chamber where Seolran is kept. Seolran is told Hyeonto has fallen and Yangjeong has been killed. Seolran is then taken to Ju Mong, who tells her he has no intention of doing any trade with Buyeo using her as hostage, thus she should return to Buyeo. Seolran says the Hans will not let Ju Mong go, and that the Han imperial and Daeso will surely avenge his father’s death. At this Moogol says they should keep Seolran as hostage instead of letting her free, but Soseono says Seolran is useless since Yangjeong is already dead. Seolran shouts at Soseono calling her a wench, but Soseono firmly states Buyeo has not tried to save Seolran since she is useless and that is the reality. At this Seolran is furious beyond measure as she is speechless. And Seolran stares at Ju Mong and Soseono with hatred.

Jumong-episode-72fNext, Soseono talks to Ju Mong alone and tells Ju Mong in order to found their Goguryeo they must send a messenger to Chang-ahn for hostage negotiations, and asks Ju Mong if he has chosen this messenger yet. Ju Mong says no since the task is life-risking. Just then Yeontabal arrives and states he will go. Ju Mong says he cannot send him, but Yeontabal asks Ju Mong to allow that important task for him as that will give great confidence to him who is growing old. Soseono tries to stop him, but Yeontabal tells them not to worry, and asks Ju Mong to trust the last task before founding of Goguryeo to him, and Ju Mong says okay, and says he will send Jaesa and Mari with him. Thus Yeontabal leaves, and next, Ju Mong meets with his generals and subjects, and Soseono says they need to build up their army again and Ju Mong gives Bubunno and Buwuiyeom the task of recruiting new soldiers among their men. Next, Ju Mong tells Mopalmo they need 2000 armors and weapons for additional iron army and asks Mopalmo how long that will take. Mopalmo says even if they work through day and night it will take a year, and Ju Mong asks him to start the process and hurry if possible. Next, Ju Mong says Yeontabal is currently risking his life for them, thus they must prepare their end for founding of nation as well. Meanwhile, in Buyeo, King Geumwa is coughing and spitting out blood nonstop. Budeukbul comes and is shocked, and later, asks Songju who else knows about the king’s dire condition, and Songju says only the oracle and the close servants. Budeukbul says Daeso would take advantage of the situation if he knew thus they must keep it a secret from everyone. However, Naro overhears the talk and goes to report it to Daeso and the queen. Daeso says for them to keep it a secret they are dissing him, and Daeso says if Budeukbul stops his future then they will have to kill him, but the queen tries to calm him. Just then the maid comes in with news Seolran has returned. Seolran and Haochen arrive, and Daeso calls out to his wife. The queen says it is great to have her back as they were worried nonstop about her. Later, Seolran meets with Daeso alone, and Seolran tells Daeso Ju Mong gave her the lowest shame and says Daeso must avenge for her father. Daeso says the king is against any army movement for the moment, but Seolran says Daeso must persuade the king. Seolran says in order for Daeso to gain power, she will do anything. Next, Seolran meets with Haochen and tells him to bring in a medicine man. Haochen asks her if she is ill, and Seolran says she will have to accomplish what Daeso is unable to do.

Jumong-episode-72gSongju sees Haochen passing by with a medicine general, and Songju asks his man to find out who that medicine man is. The medicine man is brought before Seolran and Seolran says if he obeys her orders, then once Daeso becomes king, she will give him the position of palace doctor, and the man says he will do what she asks. Seolran says it is life-risking and shows him a sac of slow-developing poison she brought from Chang-ahn. Seolran tells the man to put the poison in the king’s medicine syrup, and the man is shocked. Seolran says if he declines then he will be killed. Meanwhile, in Hyeonto, Hyeopbo runs in with news that Mari has returned from Chang-ahn. Mari comes in and says Yeontabal has succeeded on his mission and Han nation has agreed to exchange the hostages with Gojoseon migrants. Ju Mong and Soseono, together with the trios are overjoyed, but Ju Mong calms down and says until Yeontabal and the migrants return safely they cannot be at ease. Next, Minister Hwang along with the other Han ministers are taken out from the prison and as Hwang passes by he tells Ju Mong to remember his name clearly, that he is Hwang Ja-kyeong. Ju Mong tells Hwang to tell the Han imperial clearly that the land they are on belongs to old Joseon and he will reclaim it all. At this Hwang is taken away as Ju Mong watches. Next, Yeonchaeryeong, Yangtak, Chansoo and Gyepil are sitting together, and Yeonchaeryeong asks Chansoo who will be the owner of Goguryeo, and Gyepil says it should be Ju Mong. Yeonchaeryeong says it is not Ju Mong, but it should be them, Gyeru. Yangtak says if they don’t have come up with any stance then Ju Mong will reign the new Goguryeo. Gyepil asks what they plan to do, and Yeonchaeryeong says she will meet with the tribe chiefs, for the emperor of Gogoryeo must be Soseono. Next, Yeontabal, Jaesa arrive in Hyeonto fort with the migrants from Han behind them, and Ju Mong et all stand by the gate to greet their arrival. Ju Mong tells Yeontabal he has worked hard, but Yeontabal says Ju Mong is the one who has saved the migrants. Jaesa tells the newly arrived who Ju Mong is, and the migrants kneel to their knees. Ju Mong goes to them and tells them to stand but the men insist on kneeling saying Ju Mong has saved them. Ju Mong tells the migrants Hyeonto fort now belongs to them, and he will help them settle here. The men thank him continuously.

Jumong-episode-72hAt night, Chansoo comes to see Soseono, and Sayong joins them on the conversation. Soseono asks Chansoo if everything’s well in Gyeru and Chansoo says yes. Chansoo asks Soseono who will be king of Goguryeo, and Soseono says nothing. Sayong says that is a question he has wanted to ask her too, and Soseono replies a long time ago she already promised to Ju Mong he would be king of Goguryeo. Sayong states that cannot be as the new nation must be reigned by Soseono, and at this Soseono is speechless as Chansoo is. Meanwhile, a man who was migrant in Chang-ahn comes to see Ju Mong, and the old man tells Ju Mong he knows where the old Joseon’s bronze mirror disc is hidden. The man says he was an officer during old Joseon and when they were getting destroyed by Han, they risked their lives to hide the disc. The man then says the bronze mirror disc is a sacred object of the old Joseon and is hidden in Hyeonto’s underground. Ju Mong and Ohyi are led to a hidden underground room where bamboo scrolls are laid out and the old migrant says they are records of old Joseon. Ju Mong asks where the disc is and the old man opens up a hidden opening in the wall, and reveals a wood box. Ju Mong holds the bronze mirror disc, and the man says the inscriptions on the disc are old Joseon words recording the events of old Joseon’s kings. Upon this discovery, Ju Mong holds a sacred shrine, where the sacred bow, the iron armor, and bronze disc are placed on the shrine. Ju Mong prays to the heavens, and asks the heavens to watch over the sacred objects they have gathered and Ju Mong asks the Joseon kings to guard the people of Jolbon.
