The assassins hired by Yeongpo are fighting against Ju Mong and his men, when Yuri joins in to help Ju Mong. During the brawl, Prince Biryu is slashed in the arm, and when an assassin is about to kill Biryu, Yuri comes to rescue Biryu by kicking the assassins away. The assassins begin fleeing but Ohyi and Moogol capture two remaining men. While Ju Mong and Mookgeo tend to Biryu’s wound, Ohyi and Moogol demand the captured to confess who is behind the attack. The men will not confess and only asks to be killed without a fuss. Ju Mong then tells Mookgeo to escort Biryu back to Goguryeo to nurse his wound, while Ju Mong takes the captured assassins back to Buyeo palace. Jaesa and Mari urge Ju Mong not to endanger himself like that, and Ju Mong glances at Yuri instead. Yuri looks back without saying anything, and Moogol pushes Yuri onto the ground asking him to reveal where the assassins came from. Yuri answers he doesn’t know, and Ohyi threatens to kill him, but Yuri insists he doesn’t know. Biryu glances at Yuri, and Ju Mong tells Yuri he believes in Yuri’s words, and Ju Mong tells Yuri he can leave. Afterwards, Ju Mong tells Hyeopbo and Mookgeo to hurry and take Biryu back to Goguryeo while the rest of them return to Buyeo palace. Meanwhile, in Buyeo palace, Geumwa comes to visit Queen Wonhu, and Wonhu asks why Geumwa is leaving now when his health is dire. Geumwa says he only gave pain to his people and before he dies he wants to make it up to them. Queen Wonhu looks at Geumwa and asks him if he realizes she is one who has been hurt for decades and asks Geumwa why he won’t see her pain. Geumwa says nothing to comfort her, and Queen Wonhu begins weeping saying she too is a woman who wanted to be loved and cherished by her husband. Geumwa then asks her to forgive him as he wont’ be able to make it up to her in this lifetime. The queen says nothing only weeps silently as she glares at him, and Geumwa takes her hand, smiling at her, and his queen begins weeping aloud. Next, Geumwa is about to depart from the palace as he takes a last look around the chambers. Daeso, Yeongpo, and the ministers bid farewell to him as they bow in unison and Geumwa smiles at them, and tells Songju it’s time to leave. Songju helps Geumwa climb on the wagon, and at last Geumwa is taken away, as Seolran smiles and Daeso worries.
In Buyeo town, Yuri drinks at an inn, as he remembers the words of King Ju Mong saying he trusts him and that he is free to leave. Just then Yesoya comes by and asks Yuri what he is doing there alone. Yuri is surprised to see her, and next Soya asks him if he has found the proof yet. Yuri replies not yet, and Soya says he must rush as they have to leave Buyeo soon. Yuri wonders why they are in a hurry to leave when he is gaining Daeso’s favor and they finally have the opportunity to have a good living, and Soya simply states Buyeo is not a place where they can stay. Back in the palace, Seolran urges Daeso to use the opportunity they have to kill Ju Mong, and Daeso says no. Seolran gets pissed and storms out, and tells Haochen to prepare a group of assassins with high fighting skills. Just then, Majin returns to Yeongpo and Yeongpo is wondering why they still haven’t heard back from their assassins. Ju Mong passes by with the captured assassins, and Yeongpo is startled and dismayed. Naro reports to Daeso about Ju Mong suffering attack on Cheon-moo mountain, and Daeso is surprised. Daeso goes out to the courtyard where Ju Mong has the two captured men kneeling. Ju Mong says the assassins must be Buyeo soldiers, and Daeso says he never gave that kind of foolish order. Jaesa shouts asking who did such in that case, and says since they are in Buyeo Daeso should get to the bottom of it, and Jaesa states if Daeso doesn’t get to the bottom of it then Goguryeo will not forgive Buyeo over it. Mari shouts as well and says if Daeso doesn’t solve this issue then Goguryeo will go to war with Buyeo. Daeso is pissed saying how dare they threaten him, and Ju Mong says his men are not threatening him, but merely giving him a warning. Afterwards Ju Mong leaves with his men, and Daeso orders Naro to find out about the assassins at once. Meanwhile, Budeukbul is angry at his ministers who try to figure out whether it is more advantageous for Buyeo to join hands with Han or Goguryeo, saying Goguryeo is progressive and Han is still strong. Budeukbul yells at them and says Han or Goguryeo, they can use both to their advantage. Just then Head General Heuchi comes in with news of the assassins on Cheon-moo mountain and Budeukbul is surprised.
Governor Hwang is worried that it would be revealed that they are behind the attack on Ju Mong and Majin tells Hwang not to worry since there is no way anyone would find out. Hwang says he can’t easily believe that but Yeongpo laughs and says he is not someone who handles things like that lightly and thus they shouldn’t worry. Meanwhile Haochen tells Seolran the timing isn’t right for them to send assassins since someone already sent them and failed. Seolran is shocked and asks who sent the assassins, and Haochen says they haven’t found that out yet. Naro continues to torture the 2 captured assassins and force them to reveal who was behind the attack, but the two men will not budge. Moogol watches the torture and goes to tell Ju Mong it seems not right to continue the torturing but Jaesa says even so they have to get to the bottom of it and find out who is behind it. Mari urges Ju Mong and hurry and retrieve back to Goguryeo before they are met with more danger, and Ju Mong tries to figure out who is behind them himself. Ju Mong says they should all think who has the best interest to get rid of them, and to be patient and wait just a little longer. Meanwhile in Goguryeo, Soseono and her aunt and father wonder what Buyeo will do as far as joining alliance, when Sayong comes in with the bad news that Biryu has returned with a heavy wound. Soseono rushes out and asks what happened and what about King Ju Mong. Hyeopbo says the king is fine thus she shouldn’t worry. Yeontabal orders the servant to hurry and fetch the royal doctor at once. As the doctor tends to Biryu, Gyepil cries by Biryu’s bedside. Soseono asks about the wound, and the doctor replies though the cut is deep there is no major trouble. Next, Hyeopbo and Mookgeo update the people about what happened during court session, and Sayong says they must put the responsibility on Buyeo to get to the bottom of it. Buwuiyeom asks Soseono to give him order to head toward Buyeo, and Soseono orders Buwuiyeom and Bubunno to bring the iron army to stand by Buyeo border immediately.
When Heukchi tells Buyeo about Goguryeo’s iron army stationed at Buyeo border, Daeso asks Budeukbul for advice saying Buyeo is not prepared to go to war with Goguryeo’s iron army. Budeukbul says Han nation must be behind the attack on Cheon-moo mountain, and Daeso says how would they know for sure when the captured won’t confess. Budeukbul says he at first thought it was King Daeso but since he is not behind it, then the only one who has enough power to scheme such is Han nation. Budeukbul says Han nation is trying to prevent Goguryeo and Buyeo becoming allies, and Budeukbul says what they must do right now, is to kill the captured assassins and to say that it was Han nation who did so. Daeso asks if Budeukbul is telling him to join hands with Goguryeo, and Budeukbul says they have to keep King Ju Mong under control for now until they can buy more time, thus they should follow Ju Mong’s offer first. Next, as Yuri watches, Naro comes in and kills the captured men. Daeso then meets with Ju Mong and tells them the assassins were hired by Han nation. Budeukbul apologizes to Ju Mong saying since it occurred on Buyeo land they are not without blame either. Ju Mong says if Han nation is behind it then they will seek blame from them. Daeso says he will open trade between Goguryeo and Buyeo, and Jaesa asks what about their alliance as nations, and Daeso replies he will accept Ju Mong’s offer and join hands with Buyeo. Ju Mong says Daeso made a great decision and as allies, Goguryeo will help Buyeo develop better weapons and to give Buyeo medicines. Daeso puts away his pride and says thank you. Afterwards, Budeukbul tells Daeso he did well suppressing his emotions, and Daeso says one day he will return to Ju Mong the shame he endured today. Ohyi, Mari, and Moogol congratulate Ju Mong for completing the alliance truce, but Jaesa says he is doubtful about Daeso’s sincerity. Ju Mong agrees with Jaesa and states even so one day Daeso will truly want to follow their wish, and thus they just have to work toward that day. Ju Mong then tells his men once they return to Goguryeo, they will prepare to go to war with Yodong fort.
As Ju Mong and the Goguryeo unit march out of Buyeo palace to return to Goguryeo, a group of gathered people watch. Among them stands Yesoya, with Yuri next to her. Yesoya begins to weep silently as Ju Mong passes by, and Yuri asks her why she is crying. Soya says it is nothing and they should hurry and go back home. As they walk back, Yuri tells Soya tonight he will go and find the proof. Yuri goes back to the palace as a guard, and as he passes by the oracle Mawuryeong she stops him. Mawuryeong gets a strange vibe from him and asks Yuri what his name is. Yuri pauses, and replies his name is Sam-cheon. Then, Mawuryeong says that’s enough and dismisses him but continues to glare at him for a moment. At night time, Yuri sneaks into Byeol-gong (star chamber) where Yoohwa used to live, and waits for the right opportunity to begin his search. Yuri remembers his mother’s words telling him what he must find is a broken knife, and Yuri begins digging here and there around and under the chamber. After some time, Yuri discovers the broken knife hidden inside a fabric piece under one of the railings, and Yuri brings it back to Yesoya. As his mother looks at the knife, Yuri asks her to tell him at last who his father is. At last, Soya tells Yuri that his father is the first king of Goguryeo. Yuri is shocked, and asks her if she means King Ju Mong of Goguryeo. With tears in her eyes, Soya tells Yuri now he should take the knife and go to Goguryeo, and that when Ju Mong sees the knife he will believe that Yuri is his son. Yuri becomes upset and asks why they are living like this and suffered the pain they did all this time, when they are Ju Mong’s wife and son. Soya says there was reason behind it, but Yuri says he won’t believe nor understand a father who abandoned them to suffer and Yuri storms out as Soya weeps. Yuri goes and gets drunk, and his friends ask why Yuri is so upset. A friend asks if it’s because his mother is so ill, and the other friend says if Yuri drinks so much then his mother will get even more upset. The friends try to stop Yuri, and Yuri shouts at them telling them to leave him alone.
As Yuri drinks out in the inn, Soya thinks over Yuri’s words of anger asking why the mighty king of Goguryeo didn’t come looking for them if they are his family and how could he leave them living under suffering. Meanwhile, in Yodong fort, Majin rushes to tell Yeongpo the news that Buyeo has decided to join alliance with Goguryeo thus they must flee before Governor Hwang finds them. The two run out and Hwang arrives. Hwang tells his men to capture Yeongpo and Majin at once and to take them away, despite the two begging for forgiveness. Around that time, Geumwa is riding on horse accompanied by Songju and Songju tells Geumwa he should go back to the wagon. Geumwa says not to worry about him and tells Songju they should head toward Cheon-moo mountain. Atop cheon-moo-san, Geumwa looks over the cliff, and tells Haemosu if he is looking down from above, to see that Ju Mong is accomplishing the grand will that Geumwa and Haemosu tried to do together a long time ago. Next, Geumwa asks Haemosu to forgive him for trying to stop Ju Mong. As Songju escorts Geumwa off the mountain, Geumwa says to halt, and tells the guards to wait while he goes somewhere alone. Songju insists he will escort him, but Geumwa waves him off and starts walking away. Geumwa then remembers words spoken to him by Yoohwa saying what he has done to deceive himself is to make her life worse than living, and how Yoohwa begged him to let her leave Buyeo. Geumwa becomes tearful and he then remembers the way Yoohwa was killed by him the last time she tried to escape Buyeo palace, and how she asked Geumwa to kill her, saying after he kills her, her soul will rest nearby Haemosu. Geumwa becomes overwhelmed by these painful memories and he falls to his knees. As he calls out to Yoohwa trembling as he weeps… Back in Goguryeo weapon factory, Mopalmo is wearing a newly developed steel vest, and orders his apprentice to go ahead and shove the sharp rod into his vest. The man is nervous but Mopalmo urges him to go right ahead and if he doesn’t survive it is because he is a failure. Just then Musong runs to him with news that Ju Mong gave the order to attack Yodong fort next. Mopalmo is elated that they are about to go against Han nation, and he tells his men to hurry and work on more weapons immediately.
In Buyeo palace, Mawuryeong tells Naro not to let ‘Sam Cheon’ get too close to the king, since Sam-cheon has a bad omen written on his face and if he gets too close to the king for too long he will bring evil to the king. Naro then goes around looking for Sam-cheon (Yuri) and when the guard tells Naro he has not yet come to work Naro gets angry saying how in the world can a guard still not show up, and Naro orders the men to go and capture Sam-cheon (Yuri) at once. Meanwhile, Yuri tells Soya he will go to his father Ju Mong and Soya says Yuri made a good decision, but Yuri says he is going there to ask Ju Mong why he threw them away to leave him living in such misery. Yuri then stands and says he will go now, and Soya calls out to him with lingering tears. Next Yuri leaves, and Soya weeps alone. Yuri’s friends ask him why he is going toward Goguryeo, and Yuri just starts walking away as the two friends follow. After they leave, the guards arrive at Soya and Yuri’s home, and the guard asks Soya why Sam-cheon hasn’t gone to work, and Soya says he went on a delivery and she didn’t know why he still hasn’t gone to work yet. The guard says when he comes back to send him immediately to the palace, and after the guards leave, Soya tells the inn woman they have to leave immediately or else they will be in danger. In Goguryeo, Buwuiyeom and Bubunno are training the soldiers for war, as Ju Mong watches from the palace balcony. Meanwhile Yuri finally tells his friends that he is going to Goguryeo to meet King Ju Mong, and the friends ask why he is going to meet Ju Mong. Yuri says because he is his father, and the friends think Yuri is crazy. Yuri proceeds forward and arrives by the Goguryeo palace gate demanding to see the king. The guard won’t allow it, and just then Mopalmo comes by with Prince Ohnjo. Mopalmo asks Yuri why he wants to see the king and Yuri hands the broken knife to Mopalmo telling him to give it to the king, and when he gets it he will know why he is here. Mopalmo opens the fabric with the knife in it and Mopalmo is startled to see the knife. He then goes in the palace and gives it to King Ju Mong saying someone has come with the item asking to see the king. Ju Mong opens it and is shocked to see the broken knife. Hyeopbo asks Mopalmo why someone would want to bring a broken knife to the king, and Ju Mong is frantic and tells Mopalmo and Hyeopbo to hurry and bring the visitor in.
Next, Ohnjo goes to visit his mom, and Ohnjo tells Soseono that something strange happened and a guy brought a broken knife to ask to see the king. Hyeopbo comes out the gate, and sees that the visitor is Yuri (Sam-cheon) and asks Yuri why he is all the way here. Yuri replies once he sees the king he will find out. Yuri is brought before Ju Mong, and Yuri with an angry face bows gently before the king. Hyeopbo reminds Ju Mong Yuri is the boy who won during the fight competition, and Ju Mong looks at Yuri intently and asks Yuri if he is the one who brought in the broken knife and Yuri answers yes. Ju Mong then asks what his name is. Yuri says it is Yuri, and Ju Mong is startled. He then asks who his mother’s name is, and Yuri replies it is Yesoya. Shocked, Ju Mong stands up and asks Yuri if he is really Yuri, as Hyeopbo wonders if this is a dream or reality. Ju Mong walks closer to Yuri, and Yuri asks the king if he is his father. Ju Mong replies he is indeed, and Yuri shouts, asking why he threw them away and let them live in such dire condition in that case.
