Filipina Soul

MY JOURNEY HOME, 2007

I. AM. GOING. HOME.

After seven long years of being stateside, finally I shall walk onto the warm sunshine (naks!) and into the welcome arms of my family. Ahh. how good it feels to be home.

Join me in “MY JOURNEY HOME”, a short series of posts I’m writing as I visit the land of my forefathers, the Pearl of the Orient Seas. The Philippines.

Travelling with a toddler, part 1 and 2.
So I’m towing along a two-year old, and I better prepare for the long flight home. Read what other blogger/parents suggested to help me cope.

Stepping on Philippine Soil.
My first few hours at the NAIA wasn’t as bad as I thought. The Philippines has truly changed, and I see a lot of good has happened.

Is this really Los Banos?
I am tickled pink with how Los Banos has markedly improved. The streets are super clean, the traffic laws are obeyed and there’s local pride for what has transpired these past years under the service of Mayor Perez.

Trace Suites - five star service in a small town
I never thought I’d find a five star hotel tucked in the hills of Los Banos.

In search of the perfect grilled squid
Aah, cravings are meant to be satisfied, especially if its for a succulent and sweet inihaw na pusit.

“Sakay na Kayo!”
Join me as I ride the king of the road.

A wedding in the family. (parts 1 and 2)
It was our brother’s wedding to his beloved of 10 years. The Shrine of Jesus Church witnessed the ceremony and Paco Park was perfect for an afternoon tea.

Philippine tricyles - small but terrible
Where no jeepney has gone, you will find these “other” kings- the tricycle and its cousin the pedicab.

Mall of Asia - big and beautiful
I was impressed by this mall’s design and the gazillion shops lining its aisles.

This land of abundance
What makes me remember my stay with fondness and longing.

My jubilee was unforgettable.
